"Sigwe Banzi Is Dead" | Good Night America (Apr 17th, 1975)

Good theatre is supposed to be a dramatically accurate reflection of the reality that it seeks to portray, and given that there is no better play right now than "Sigwe Banzi Is Dead". It's a harsh, hard, breathtaking play about one black man's struggle to get by in his native land. The Republic of South Africa. We take a look at the reality first and then we see the stage version.

Wow, I have always seen John Kani as a senior man on TV and the internet, I have never seen an image of John Kani that young in colour. I saw this play in Johannesburg a couple of years ago, its amazing to see that it also played in America in the 70s.
