I've heard so many people say they dislike carnival food and just the line in general but Everytime y'all post a video everything looks delicious and fun! Even better than Royal and Disney!
They’re getting much better. Their specialty foods are really good & usually included, but their dinner menu is going to be the same menu on each cruise. They’ve had more or less the same MDR menu for almost 20 years. It’s good, but if you stay on the ship & do a back to back it’ll be exactly the same menu for both weeks in the MDR.
@@drdata1967 thank you so much for that Info! That must've been what people meant when they told me that, and it makes alot of sense to me. It would get really boring to keep eating the same menu in the MDR. When I cruised alot, I had a partner that worked on RCL. I actually never got the chance to eat in the MDR and would just go eat by myself in the windjammer and specialty restaurants. So I can't even compare RCL and Carnival MDR. It does look like Carnival specialty dining has more options than RCL but then again sometimes Jason and Elise will say that the food is "good" but not amazing (like bbq etc) I trust their judgement because we're both southern. Which line is your all time favorite?
@@joem2130 just because of the size of the RCCL ships & because I’m not invested in their loyalty program, I tend to cruise on Carnival and Holland America as my main usual lines, but I’ve done about 20 Princess cruises, probably 6 or 7 NCL cruises , at least 3 RCCL cruises and a smattering of Celebrity and a few other older cruise lines that no longer exist. I actually like older smaller ships so I’m not locked up in going on the newest and biggest, I’ve taken a few European and river ships. I like them all. I tend to book Carnival often because they are cheap & im near the top or at the top of their loyalty programs and my wife doesn’t really like to travel so I’m usually bringing companions who tend to like going Carnival, I’m not at all picky.
From this great video, and others like TravelTouristVideos and my own experience Carnival has good casual food. Pizza is among the best. Royal, Princess, Holland, NCL and Disney have overall better food, but they should as you are paying more. With Disney you are paying much more and their food is just middle of the pack. For what Carnival costs I am amazed any food is included.
Going with my sons on Mardi Gras in May 2024 ... really looking forward to spending time with them. My youngest will finally be 21! Thank you both for this video on the food!
I have lost 50 pounds in the last six months doing Keto and working out 7 days a week. We are on the Mardi Gras on September 18th. I am going off Keto for a week and going to eat everything I want I will go back on Keto after the cruise. I have been dreaming about all the food on Mardi Gras. Thank you for showing us all the food options.
As someone that has done keto for 3 years and lost over 150 pounds i just want to warn you. I did this on a cruise and I was sooo incredibly sick I couldn't even enjoy my cruise. Also I got so bloated none of my new cruise clothes fit me within 2 days. What I do now when I travel is have a keto breakfast. Which is super easy to do on the cruise. Then at lunch I will go as keto as possible but maybe have a small bit of carbs. Then have whatever I want for dinner. I take 2 MCT pills at dinner. This works for me. I don't get sick and I am able to enjoy myself and still have cruise food.
Thank you for keep sharing your best travel with us, you are my favorite couple!!! God Bless you both, enjoy and be safe!!! Keep stay healthy and happy!!!
We just returned last month from 7 days on MSC Divina and it made me miss the food on carnival and Royal soooo much! We are cruising on the Mardi Gras January 22 and I cannot wait!
I’m with you on the brisket, not needing sauce, going on the Mardi Gras in Feb, hopefully they fixed the rest of the menu .Been watch you guys for years,on to Bermuda in April. You and other channels have inspired me to travel, thanks.
Shipping out on mardi gras in 28 days. Seen alot of videos. Most are sooo boring. Yours is fun to watch. Both yall are just living the dream and enjoying the moment. Well done gang!
Wow.! Sure that's enough food. That is a food coma for the cruise to eat at all the places. But you have to have fun when on cruises, right. Have fun and stay safe. Cheers.!
The editing was awesome in this vid, and as a huge foodie, I loved hearing you both give your opinions on the restaurants on board. Best travel content on RUclips period! Stay awesome.
I really enjoy your channel so down to earth give honest reviews. I love the facial expressions they make me laugh. I’m now hungry after watching all that food .
The two of you are always having so much fun. Can’t wait until we can cruise again…. Cruising is calling us. We have A short cruise San Francisco to San Diego in November.
Shaq's Chicken is awesome! I was skeptical of the Nashville Hot sauce but I was pleasantly surprised it was pretty spot on. And the breakfast chicken biscuits are so good!! Nice video BTW!!
Thanks for this great video! We will be on the Mardi Gras for the first time next month and this was very helpful in understanding some of the food on offer.
Alysa, I am so glad to see someone else smell their food before they take a bite. I do the same thing. And so does my daughter, she a very sensitive smell and if she doesn't like the smell she's not putting it in her mouth. Im from Texas and I'm pretty critical on BBQ especially Brisket and pulled pork. Great video.
I have a very sensitive smell. If I ever get that no smell forget it. I cannot eat it no matter how much effort I put in or what it cost. I always say do you smell that. It makes my husband crazy. He says you try to smell things. I don't. It just happens. Not just food but stuff too.
I had to rewatch this awesome video of the food available on the Mardi Gras bec I just I will be a first time cruiser, just booked on the Celebration April 2023 (yeah me). A birthday cruise to myself (and first vacation in 20 yrs., if all goes well). So looking forward to this big event and hitting all those incredible restaurants. Shaq's chicken is first (or maybe Guys Burgers), but I gotta try those short ribs & the pizza. Cozumel is on the itinerary so I'll have to rewatch your Cozumel video. Any tips for first timer & solo??
We ate at Cucina and ordered chicken parmesan. It was so delicious but we were shocked it did not come with a side of spaghetti. Loved your food tour. Jason was obviously in love with that beef braised short rib.
I'm surprised at how much I enjoyed this video. I'm not a fan of watching people eat- open mouth, chew, nod head, thumbs up (or a disgruntled look.) They're always all the same. But at the end of this video I was thinking "that's it?? I wanted to see more!" Also I love when Alisa winks at Jason. So cute!
thanks for the food tour we will be sailing on her in January so thank you! I was not crazy about pig and anchor on the breeze I was actually disappointed.
Well not sure Ill be able to diet the week on this cruise!!! And we have the drink package so....I love braised short rib too. Adding your recs to the notes on our cruise
Oh, how I envy you right now!! I know you filmed this over a number of days but my brain is telling me differently and I am ready to burst just watching this. I would be heading to my balcony and experiencing wind of epic proportions (nothing to do with the weather). Those chicken "burgers" looked amazing. I had a guys burger once but he didn't appreciate it and chased me for miles.
You making me sooooooooo hungry right now! You guys did a great review. If I ever go to Carnival, at least I can know what to expect from food. I am guessing some of the food was pre-cooked and brought on the shipt to re-heat and serve. Apple B's style?????
Love this!!! Hard not to hate you guys!!! Too afraid of covid to go anywhere. Hopefully one day. For now eating and living through you. Keep up the videos. They get me through the boring work day. PS. I think carnival food is pretty damn good!! Hope you home and your family are safe in Louisiana!!

We ate in the MDR one night and it was ok. Our camera didn’t agree with the lighting in there so we couldn’t use it. Didn’t make it to Emeril’s but will on our next 9/25 cruise!
I've never cruised Carnival, so never had pig and anchor.
