- Cockpit footage from an epic dogfight against a highly skilled P-51 pilot on the 4YA Project Overlord server. Luckily we both made it home alive, though with some damage. Tacview overlay was added to the recording to show that is going on and my mistakes.

Nice touch with tacview there. Good for some analysis. I could have been slightly more aggresive when offensive, but I decided to keep that speed up as best as I could. I didnt expect last reversal before I started running. The 109 accelerates quite good 😊
It is not about speed. It is about gaining and maintaining energy advantage. At around 4:20, the P51 was dragging you down. When he/she started to do scissors and lose energy, you should have climbed and gain energy over him.
Luckily he didnt, but he was blacking out also, so the barrel roll came at the perfect time.

Learning this… the main danger for me is the one I am to myself, taking off is a real ballache.😊
It will come, only needs a bit of practice, once you have developed a feel for them takeoffs will be easy. 🙂 slow, gradual power addition is the key to keeping it controllable

I've tried to fly the 109 exactly once, and it tried to kill me on takeoff... I should dust it off and try again.

Flat scissors into barrel roll, to force an overshoot. It worked well
look into learning bfm/acm combat. it explains close-in dogfights and the geometry of fighting in a combat aviation setting.
Enjoyed your video… First time I have seen someone add TacView in a window while fighting… Sweet… But I really wish you would do audio commentary during the fight or/after so that we know your thoughts of how you were responding and maneuvering during the engagement… Looking forward to more from you in the future.

i thought tacview made a 10 minute delay to prevent cheating. But in your minitacview inset screen, I see the enemy shoot you in real time.
Yes it does, but I inserted and aligned the tacview during editing
