He was 27 when he sang this song. He married his childhood sweetheart when he was 17 and was married for 59 years until his wife died. The passion and the power he puts in to every song he sings its all him. He actually had TB from the age of 12 to 14 and was housebound for that time, so to be able to sing how he does after having that disease, is a miracle in itself. He was a ladies man and his wife knew of his infidelity. But he loved Linda and called her the one 😁

Another great singer from Wales is Shirley Bassey who sang 3 James Bond songs. You should listen to her sing 'Goldfinger' and 'Diamonds Are Forever'. She sounds just as good singing them at 85 as she did when they first came out. Tom also sounds good at 80+.

This song was written for tom jones by lonny donnigan, as said tom is on the voice UK, lonny donnigan has since past away, but lonny's son peter apeared on the voice UK, where tom was the only one that turned around, peter did not sing this song, but found out he was lonny's son, they did a duetof this song on the voice UK, tom at 80+ still has it, peter did great job, well worth a watch

He is 80 yrs old and still can sing
it's funny, after my second divorce from a man who failed to let me know he hated that I had a young son, so he begin to verbally abuse him and then came the physical stuff... so I dumped him like so much dog manure. and SWORE I'd never, ever fall in love again.. I meant it to. so for 7 yrs I held out, just caring for my mom and my son. and then I stumbled on someone who was determined to get my attention. It actually took almost a year before I finally decided to go to lunch with him. I was not nice to him, but he was determined and eventually we married. Best thing ever happened to me. He's my beloved husband now. 20 yrs later. I swore I would never do it again.
