    Thanks for the demo. I have to do this for my ST824 as well and you were very helpful. I will be looking at this in the future after ordering the carb from Amazon. Thanks AGAIN!

    I have been pretty much just replacing carbs with the Chinese ones. They work great and like you said they are adjustable. Also the 2 cycle Chinese carbs allow for adjustment where the original ones did not. Nice video. Big Thumbs up!

    Wow I have never seen a starter powered by AC...that is the coolest thing !!

      Snowblowers don't have batteries they would be useless as they sit idle most of the year and would be too heavy. So it's either the pull rope recoil starter like mine or 120 volts AC.

    I have one of those impact tools and my wonderful kids lost the tips. Gotta love them. Jim

    Man oh man... Craig... That was a great deal on that replacement carb... Sounds good now... I am hoping that after you get this snow blower fixed... It won't need to be used until next year!! ;-)

    Nice work, I used a Chinese knockoff for an Echo weed wackier and a Kohler and they worked great...

    Hey Craig, I have the same ST824 as yours, good job on the videos. I have a question how do I remove the shroud to gain access to the drive shaft and gear case. The newer Ariens videos show it held in place with four bolts but mine looks somewhat like a sheet metal overlap sliding fit top to bottom. There are not any bolts on my machine. Thanks Dan

    Any chance of getting a link to that impact tool you used to take the carb off? Thank you much.

      Oh you need one of those! Don’t use it often but when I need it it doesn’t fail. It’s a Craftsman impact driver. I bought it at Sears when they were around. Amazon has them, just put in hand impact tool. They’re like $25 bucks.

    hello Craig, could you post the part number of the carb that you ordered from Amazon when you get a chance? Thanks!

      Hi, I lost all my past orders when I cancelled my Prime account last year and my wife picked up her account. a.co/d/0QHKlcT this is similar to the one I have, fully adjustable and a drain on the bowl. Just make sure it fits your application.

    I gt this ariens from a coworker last year but when I prime it. Thier a small gas leakon the carb is that ok

    • @CraigArndt
      @CraigArndt  3 года назад

      Hard to say, where is the leak coming from? If you have that idle screw/spring under the carburetor bowl, it could be coming from there. That's just a seal gasket that needs replacement, so not a big deal. If you notice that it leaks overnight, or a lot, you should correct it. Full choke, 3-4 primes of the bulb, it should start in a pull or two. That primer bulb should only get a few pumps and its good.

      @@CraigArndt I bought a new carburetor on eBay and it works so far very well no leaks and now I just got to adjust the idle I got it at $15 with the whole entire kit

      Parts 3 and 4 of the series will show you. I not only replaced belts, but pulleys, spring, bearings. Easy to do and will make it run another 30 years.

      I got the new carburetor today I installed and runs but runs to rich and only with the choke on one quarter on or half . My new carburetor doesn’t have the idle screw is a plastic cap on it. On the bottom of the bowl 🍚 doesn’t have a gas bleeder like my old one. And on the bottom of the bowl doesn’t have a air mixture screw. Just a screw to drain it

      I just got another two new carburetors again . Two new ones because we have two machines.this time just like yours with the idle mixture screw and the air mixture screw under the bowl. I installed it and both still runs like crap and only runs with the chock on. I opened the bowl air mixture screw get worse and I closed it little bit runs better but if I close the chock dies .
