The moon part is actually really important. It shows how much time he must have spent chasing his father and running from Thresh. When you combine that with how his soul is slowly being drained by the shadow isles while he is outside of the ward and away from the holy water stuff, it makes sense that his movements got clunkier and why he got more clumsy.
The reason Buhuru’s priests are using “light-holy” magic is simple: that is the magic of Nagakabouros. In the Shadow and Fortune story, when Miss Fortune and his crew members enter in the Bearded Lady’s temple, Illaoi was doing some kind of ritual. After a while, when Hecarim managed to break through the temple’s door, the result of the ritual was shown. It was a bright light that enveloped everything, protecting the humans but killing the undead (it basically reverted the spirits to their human form so they could die, even Hecarim himself had to flee). That’s why Buhuru’s magic looks that way. I haven’t read Illaoi’s lore in a while, but from what I remember it wasn’t even shown she could summon Nagakabouros’ arms (zoologically they are not tentacles), but here I could be easily wrong. Anyway I really hope for a Bilgewater cinematic, Illaoi is my favourite champion but they never realise anything about her...
Necrit the cinematic (Tales of Runeterra) for what it seems are linked to card game (Legends of Runeterra). So Shurima and Ixtal might not have cinematics yet since they are not faction in the card game yet. However they will most likely will get cinematic at some point
About the Thresh talking and not moving his mouth thing. TB Skyen mentioned in his video that it is most likely to seperate when he is talking and when he is narrating. When the mouth is moving he is talking to the people in the video, and when the mouth is not moving he is talking to us, the viewers watching the video.
I'm actually pretty new to league, and don't know much yet, but I'm really happy to know the lore and get more sucked into this world and the characters. Thank you so much
T B Skyen actually explained the mouth moving, basically at the end of the video he isn't actually talking, it's just the narrator like in the begining (which is still thresh), so they had to make it look like he was talking earlier to avoid confusion.
It’s pretty clear that Thresh is both narrating the cinematic from an outside perspective as well as talking in the cinematic when his mouth is moving. It’s a pretty clear tell which sound is diegetic and which is not. One is for the benefit of the audience, the other is to spook his victim. As for the moments where the mist is coming off the Acolyte’s hands, both at the start and during his attempt to run, it’s not an indication of Thresh’s presence but the corroding effect of the Shadow Isles on living beings, sapping his life and vitality without the protection of the golden wards.
When the acolyte falls in the last part and tries to get up, you can hear a sharp scream-ish sound, which reminds me of Thresh Death Sentence or Kalistas Rend hitting in-game. Maybe that's the exact time his soul got snatched.
I didn't get this myself but from someone from the original video. The reason he kept falling was because the moment he left the ward, he was dying, because the shadow isles sucks the life out of mortals.
Did you notice the moment he explains the instruments, when the boy looks up there is a screeching sound, i think that is the moment the soul was ripped out of him.
they do cinematics for LoR anouncements, so there will be 6 cinematics guaranteed and maybe 7th wil be for new region( new for LoR ofc). People think that new region wiil be targon or bilgewater
The golden circle thing that you can see when the boy falls down and drops the juice has detailing that looks very similar to that circle thing in the demon book thingy.
I was checking your youtube channel every 2 hours after this league of legends video was uploaded, now i already got it, so excited. Hope yo uwill never stop doing these videos, it is the most interesting thing on the whole INTERNET, thnak you for making these videos for us. :)
0:48 You also missed Targon, the Void and Bandle City. The cinematics will be for all the regions that are currently in Legends of Runeterra as they are following the same schedule as the game's release teaser videos, being released on the same day as the "region showcase" for Legends of Runeterra. That's likely why the Piltover and Zaun video with Heimer, Jinx, and Ekko will be 1 video (released 3 days from now). As every Legends of Runeterra region gets 3 days of content teasers, we will get the new expansion region teasers (Bilgewater) starting from the 23rd till the launch of the new region (28th) as it will have 5 new champs, one each day. And it won't have a champion or region showcase from an old champion/cards as it's a new region. So the last Bilgewater teaser will be on the 27th with the region releasing on the 28th. EDIT: The order of the cinematics is also decided by the second region that is combined with the region of the region showcase video in it. E.g. the Freljord region showcase video had Shadow Isles cards in it, meaning Shadow Isles was next. Then the Shadow Isles showcase video used a Noxian card, meaning Noxus is next (as you can see since the Noxus cinematic was uploaded today). The Noxus showcase video used a Piltover&Zaun card, meaning that cinematic is next (1 video), leaving Ionia as the last existing LoR region before the new Bilgewater region will be teased/have it's own cinematic.
Good idea... And the reason why they have to refill it is because as the Spirits try to get through them they are damaged, which drains it, which makes it weaker, like how the barrier spell takes damage...
I don't know if you noticed , but the cinematic match with the video in the Legend of Runterra RUclips Channel . They post a video every day with this patern : Champion showcase ; region showcase and champion reveal . And when the first champion showcase on a new region appear , we got a cinematic on the region . So since the game don't have ixtal , shurima and targon playable (bilgewater have been leak to be soon in the game) , i don't think there will be a cinematic for them for now .
I don't know if I'm the only one but when legends of runeterra showcases a champion, they follow it up with a showcase of the region where that came champion from and then followed again by a champion release from that region and then League of Legends will upload a cinematic corresponding to the region showcased... It happened thrice in a row and I highly belive next will be Noxus.
Also notice the sound immediately after Thresh spins his chain, it's the same sound used for his ultimate (The Box), which was the same point when the acolyte died. Maybe the box is invisible to mortals? Or the acolyte passed through and tripped (the intense slow in-game) and died. The sound when the acolyte hits the bubble is the sound of a soul being dropped, also. Weird detail to add there, but might be useful.
Right out the gate, the first thing I couldn’t help but notice is that the undead that leaped towards the acolytes from inside the bubble on the boat, almost looks exactly like the spirit reaching behind the “sinister poro” in its splash art in Legends of Runeterra
Around 8:23, you can see that there's a chunk of debris behind the acolyte which explains why he falls on his back. He walked backwards out of fear and trips on the debris.
i think there is a good detail there also when thresh spins his chain and the acolyte gets back up there is a scream like sound which can indicate the moment thresh's hook reached him
Since these are from / expounding on Legends of Runeterra, they're probably only doing the regions from the game - Demacia, Freljord, Shadow Isles, Piltover & Zaun, Noxus, and Ionia - in preparation for the official launch at the end of the month.
The cinimatics are for Legends of runeterra so you wont get a shurima cinematic or any other cinematic till after a while. Right now bilgwater is coming out and after that Mount targon. That's also why bilgwater is last for now cause they are going to show the cinematic then the 4 new champion cards which will be released
Someone pointed out to me that the reason the kid is slipping every two seconds is because of a mix of the floors being slippery and whatever abomination thresh sent when he pointed his hook was tripping him. Toying with him until the end.

I love how Necrit releases a video about the Shadow Isles on the day the Noctis one comes out
They realse their cinematics according to the showcase of the legends of runeterra youtube
Last Zed HQ was released!!!
You make these cinematics more interesting. Thank you
Around 8:23, you can see that there's a chunk of debris behind the acolyte which explains why he falls on his back. He walked backwards out of fear and trips on the debris.
The lack of moon near the end could indicate a passing of time. Like just how long the acolyte was in there.
That's the same shield Rakan used to protect Xayah in there ciniamatic vs zed it is 2:18
Damn. New Zed comic chapter really is amazing. Probably the best out of the 3 stories!
Thank you, Necrit!
*Wait...*
i think there is a good detail there also when thresh spins his chain and the acolyte gets back up there is a scream like sound which can indicate the moment thresh's hook reached him
Since these are from / expounding on Legends of Runeterra, they're probably only doing the regions from the game - Demacia, Freljord, Shadow Isles, Piltover & Zaun, Noxus, and Ionia - in preparation for the official launch at the end of the month.
@necrit now we have the zed comic with zed's truth revealed, as well as the noxus cinematic with darius. CMON MAN I AM WAITING
Illaoi talks a lot about Buhru. I personally love when she taunts Baron Na'shor saying "in Buhru you'd be called dinner". It's cool to finally see someone from there
Necrit: I just made it in time to upload my cinematic explained video
Riot: Hold my animators
Could be just me but, he talks about the music when I swear the sound effect for Thresh collecting a soul is played amongst the drums
