  • We explore the amazing and remote Gold Mining Ghost Town of Gold Point near Lida Junction Nevada at the junction of Hwy 95 and Hwy 266 just south of Goldfield, NV and about 175 miles north of Las Vegas in Esmeralda County Nevada. The town was originally a silver mining town around the turn of the 20th century but in the 1930's it became a gold mining town. Modern machinery was brought in and gold was discovered and mined. Because it is a later ghost town, the remaining artifacts are still in good shape and worthy of exploration. And because it is off the beaten path, it is rarely explored. Unlike Bodie, CA I did not see another human during my visit. This is a wonderful place to explore! I understand it is possible to camp in the area for a fee, and bed and breakfast options may also be offered.

There's a way to get to gold point from death valley off the death valley road called little springs road. I'm heading to death valley in two days and I'm going to give that a try. thanks for posting your good videos about these places.

Nice! In Gold Point it’s clear the dirt road continues. If I’ve got the right road, it looks like it goes up Oriental Wash. There is also warning of deep sand on my map so I suspect a 4WD with aired down tires would be the recommended rig. Thanks for the comment and if you complete the journey, please let me know how it is.

Thanks for the video. Good job on the camera work and narration. Enjoyed the drone video as well. I love being out in those desert places, and the quiet is all a part of the experience. With that in mind, I would suggest that you completely remove the background music from the the videos that you create in places like this. Overall, great job, thank you.
