I was lucky enough to see Big Country many times over their entire career. They were always excellent! I spoke to Stu in person at the Town & Country club. He was such a modest man. I was gutted when I heard of his death. Like many I expect, I have always wondered why this fantastic song wasn't included on the album of the same name. His solo at the end is simply wonderful, & I never tire of hearing it. Thank you Blertoly for posting it.
Stewarts Motorcycles. Thanks for your words my friend. I have seen the guys many times too. The best live band ever. And yes He created so many songs which didn't make it to a album, but that just was the beauty of his music, there was always more to listen to. Thanks again for your thoughts, words and most of all, for watching.
superb - I ran the Big Country fan club in 83 and Stuart and the lads were great guys....this is one of their greatest songs.... Two great guitar solos...
Their are 3 versions of this song and they are all beautiful.I don't and will never really understand why Big Country did not get to the same level of success that U2 achieved.I like U2,but I LOVE Big Country.
We lost one of the most talented people in music history 8 years ago today, and most people would have no idea who I was referring to.But we do. Remembering a good man,Stuart Adamson RIP.
Stuart Adamson. The best of the best.Singer/songwriter/musician,and all round great guy. This version and the one from the Eclectic CD are both brilliant.Beautiful post. Thanks so much.
The greatest crime was to fade out/cut Stuarts amazing solo at the end. He was was killin it then it just disappears. Shame. I hope someone finds the uncut ,unedited ending solo someday to see how much more passion was pouring out of this guys playing that we missed.
@doran44 Hi there. Thanks for watching. One reason BC didnt get as big as U2is because U2 took the commercial route were as BC stayed loyal to their beliefs. You will find BC fans are more passionate about BC music than U2 fans regarding theirs. Im a U2 fan too btw, the older stuff anyway.
@spainishgirl This song allows people to understand the beauty of life and all within that life. Stuart was the most amazing song writer and musician to ever grace my life and so many other lives too. He is a legend
Thanks mate, yes the guitar is awesome as always. A fantastic deep song which I love. Check out winter sky that I uploaded a few years ago. Thanks for watching.
