The fact that the C4 is so hated on only proves How Dumb people really are.The C4 was truly cutting edge when it came out! It's design is timeless #C4stillrelevant
Sad but true. I actually think that the C4 is a better car than the C5 and the C6.
@@LimitedEditionMotorcars same here they are ok but not wow or worth the $$
@@neilspadanuta3871 Agreed.
@@LimitedEditionMotorcars Damn, that makes me feel good. I have an LT4 and was thinking of trading up to a manual C6.
@@paulmoss7940 still like the c4 better
And c5 6 seem not to be built as well
I was Chief Engineer during most of the C4 period and wrote a book on the history of the Corvette through the C5, “Corvette From The Inside". Jerry Palmer was the stylist for the C4. He owned a Ferrari 308, but had the 4-Rotor Corvette show car in the studio as he was modeling the C4. Through the lifecycle we took the Corvette from 140 MPH to 180 MPH. The speed capability goes up with the cube of HP. We raced the C4 from 1985 through 1987 in SCCA endurance racing. Porsche came out to play in those 3 years, Ferrari did not. For us it was the continual improvement of the C4. We won every 6, 12 and 24 hour endurance race against Porsche. The C4 era ended with the 180 MPH ZR-1 that changed how the Corvette was perceived by GM and ultimately led to the C8 of today.
Thanks for your input, that is pretty cool.
You're an actual legend. I have that book and others like it. When I was a kid in the early 90s I had huge books on corvette history. I became obsessed with the Callaway C4 TT and ZR1.
Reading on all of the background engineering that went into micro-managing seemingly unimportant details to create a refined, synchronous product led to me obtaining my Masters in ME.
You did great work. You made the first true great Corvette.
@@TokeyTheBear_AOEI also got the book but haven’t had time to read it… The C4 really was an amazing machine for the time and even today
@@EJleon96 it's so good. It was my childhood breakfast read. I still love the c4!
@@TokeyTheBear_AOE I’ve been looking for a Corvette book from my childhood that went all the way up to the C4 or C5 I think. Definitely looked at least from the late 90s. Maybe 40 pages and lots of pictures. One of the sections talked about the king of the hill C4 Zr1 that really fascinated me
I still pick the C4. Have had Porsche and Maserati. Love American muscle and that C4 is beautiful. Stay safe and stay healthy.
C4's are awesome but that gated shifter is from heaven 😁
Must be nice ,the 2002 maserati spyder is my next purchase
Vettes had a crazy price also, as my C4 was $43,900 in 1994, today you can find near mint condition and pick them up for under $18k. Not so for NSX, Supra, etc.
It is good to the the C4 get the respect it deserves.
People always hate on something they don't understand. C4 is a true supercar.
The C4 Corvette is my favorite. The Ferrari is an Italian beauty, but the C4 is more realistic lol.
I hope you get enough followers so you can give the C4 Corvette away!
Take care and God bless, brother.
Thank you, much appreciated. The Corvette is always more realistic. However, the 328 prices are still reasonable so they are attainable at this moment.
Realistic price wise or??
@@benjaminwoodman Yes, realistic price wise.
Great comparison video. I'm glad someone did it. These are my 2 favorite cars from the 80s and 90s .I recently was able to afford a C4 so I bought myself a 1996 coupe automatic in Polo Green like the one in this video. I just love it. I feel like I am driving a piece of American sports car history. Thanks from Montreal.
Thank you, glad you liked it. The C4 is a very special car and most certainly needs more appreciation than it really gets.
Love C4’s.
They are great cars.
Beautiful cars, but my heart goes with the vette !!!
The vette definitely looks sleeker.
That green vette is sick looking! My favorite green!!
These are actually some of my favorite vids..
Comparing vehicles, American vs Italian cars..
If you’re a true car enthusiast, you don’t discriminate..
I still remember the night my brother got spanked by a corvette while driving his cross fire Z28.. worst design ever!!
That’s when I realized how fast Corvettes were..
Hey maybe one day I’ll be a member of the GFG.. I just gotta work another 10 years to get full retirement 😂😂😂😷🤦🏻♂️😤🥴🥴..
The warehouse was definitely a great idea.. mikes quality is wayyyy too loud sometimes..
Absolutely correct! If you are a true car guy, you appreciate all cars. These Corvettes are no joke, they move man. Unfortunately, we are not accepting applications for GFG crew members at this time 😁
You need to get the C4 pre face lift, I'm red, the black trim line in the middle is exactly the same as in the ferrari.
Yeah, but that's what we had at the time. They are very similar cars, especially if you drive them back to back.
Mine too ....an 87 c4
I've driven s 328 rental on the Autobahn in Germany. While it's been over 30 years since, all I can honestly remember is. Man what a freaking weekend that was. If I had to choose between any Corvette and any Ferrari I'll keep my feet on the ground and go with the Corvette. Can't get wrong either way. Cool comparison video.
The 328 is the best driving Ferrari that I have experienced to date. The Corvette does look sleeker and has more power but driving the 328 is truly a magical experience.
I was driving in a bad service area otherwise I never would've clicked faster.
I watched to the end but can't do everything on my phone while driving. I only have Instagram on my computer. Nice comparison by thr way. Most people don't realize how nice a Corvette from that era really is.
Thanks man! I'll save a t-shirt for ya. Just send me your address and which one you want.
@@LimitedEditionMotorcars you are the man. Thanks
The Pontiac Fiero was heavily inspired by the Ferrari 308. Pontiac bought two 308's for study during Fiero development.
Disgusting right?
As a C6 fan and owner, I used to be in the C4 hater camp. Until I owned one. Now I also have a '96 LT4, and granted, most of the bugs were worked out by then and the underrated engine was second only to the LT5, but overall it's a great car. I can't speak to earlier C4 models, but mine converted me to an admirer of the generation.
I bought my 96 CE with LT1 3 years ago and I adore it. 49k miles, $9000. I garage it in the winter and drive it in the summer. I leave the traction control on. :)
People hate on the C-4 because they think of the 80s era C4 the 90s era c4 was refresh rounder and came with a new motor that laid the smackdown on almost every car it lined up against
That is very true. Once the LT1 appeared under the hood the C4 changed the game.
I have owned many C4 Corvette , from the 1984-1996. I have a C6 convertible now that I am selling, and I am going to buy a 1996 C4.
I watched it to the end. Thank you guys for showing the C4 some love. I bought a 1990 ZR-1 last May, 74k miles, it sat for several years so I had/have work to do. Mechanically she is strong, I did fuel injectors and pumps, and all the other things like oil change and so forth. It runs great, very strong, that LT5 ain't no joke. Needs interior work and paint, she is white on red. I am committed to making a very nice driver out of her. It will see many miles for sure.
You have two beautiful machines, very nice. Will be watching. Subbed👍👍🏁🏁
Love the ZR1, amazing cars. Sounds like you have your work cut out for you but that is the fun of this hobby. I am glad you liked the video, thank you for your support sir!
I was born in 82. the C4 was on my wall. it was my dream car forever!!!!
I had a poster of a white C4 on my wall as well. Awesome cars 👍
Hey you know me I still say the c4 is bad ass also I like it a lot because it hugs you sorry I don’t do the Instagram stuff but I did watch till end you rock keep doing what your doing man!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate it man!
Great video. I just did my own review of my c4 corvette. These cars are under apreciated right now
Thanks. Fix that tach 😉
@@LimitedEditionMotorcars yes lol. Its off by quite a bit
Not anymore, values are now climbing fast. People are in love with the C4 again. Values climbing!
@@Bridging_the_Political_Divide Thanks for watching my video. I love these cars. I think they are great and great value. Can only go up from here. I'm keeping mine
I have a 92 C4, same color, 6 Speed....love it !!!
Manuals are hard to find. Enjoy it!
As the owner of a pristine '94 6 spd Polo Green C4, this placed a smile on my face. Only difference is the 348 has skyrocketed in price. Suspension comparisons would have been nice.
Thanks. You can do so much in a limited time. The Ferrari is actually a 328, not a 348. There are videos on the channel with me driving both cars with my thoughts about them. Thanks for watching!
The lines on the corvette just look better to me. Plus it’s cheaper to keep on the road. I don’t have Instagram though, but enjoyed the video. You should take em both to the track and see which one out performs the other.
There is an email on the website, let me know what shirt you want. As for the cars, they are both special in their own way. Believe me when I say that the driving experience is similar. There are no tracks around here that are close but I think both of them will disintegrate if pushed hard lol
Goodfellas Garage got the shirt today; it’s great! Thank you for your generosity.
@@strokeraceventura2550 You are very welcome, enjoy!
The C4 is a peas of art
Real car enthusiasts do not discriminate, if I do not like a specific car I do not talk trash and post comments under its videos, I just do not invest my time into meaningless hating; this video provides a rare to find quality content with a detached and objective approach. I truly thought C4s were on the same platform as the 944 and Testarossa. Great feedback addition to our beloved & timeless Motorweek reviews. Thanks for posting!
Keep up these awesome videos! Love the content
Thank you so much, appreciated!
The C4 Corvette is still a GREAT looking car today. However, that car is BEST as a manual.
Manuals are hard to find. I looked.
@@LimitedEditionMotorcars good point.
Yeah. When I started shopping for a C4,it 100% HAD to be a manual, and a 96. Found a couple, had to fly to Florida. Bought it,drove 850 miles home. Best road trip ever. Lo miles50k,but yes, hard to find a nice one.
@@paulmoss7940 Very hard to find a clean example. They are all beat to death. Took me about 6 months to find this car.
Badass video man! Only thing I hate is it took me this long to find this lol I always wanted to see a C4 compared to a Ferrari of the same era
Thanks man! Glad you liked it 👍
So you've got my 2 childhood dream cars together. I'm now on my second C4, getting a Ferrari will be a much taller order though.
Still like the corvette more lol
Great video! I've always loved the C4 corvettes and it's why i bought and restored one!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it. The C4's are really awesome cars.
I loved the c4_vette.one of my dream cars....
Goodfellas Garage is the Best!!! I just subscribed, I've taken all their advice and starting collecting vettes too. I just uploaded
a new video with similar content on my channel. PLZ watch/subscribe and gimme me some feedback/love ! Thank you !
The chief stylist of the C4 specifically had the Ferrari as his styling benchmark as Dave MacLellen said in his book. The technological benchmark was the Poreche 928. And the instrument benchmark was a F16 fighter after visiting the factory that builds them. The C4 is great and inexpensive to operate once sorted out. Just was failed by the production techniques in hit's frame contstruction that causes flex, but that can be addressed for small money.
With heads cam and 1.6 rockers headers these cars make good power naturally aspirated 400-450+whp
There is huge aftermarket support. Spend a few bucks and you can have a rocket. Or leave it stock and enjoy it as is.
FWIW C4 Corvettes got Traction Control (ASR) in 1992. It can be turned off if not wanted, but nice to have in bad weather
That's true, this C4 does have traction control but it's nothing like the modern systems.
The older I get, the better looking the C4 becomes.
The c4’s have already started to go up in value in the past few years. I’ve seen some for 30k
Nothing to think about here...The VETTE!
Good choice.
That's tough for because I love them both. Your video about the 328 made me want to drive one so bad, lol... I've never had the pleasure.
It's an unforgettable experience. The 328 is better driving Ferrari than any of the modern ones.
The Corvette is more refined. Love the C4
By 1993 the C4 definitely got more refined.
Corvette C4, Ferrari 328 GTS and Porsche 930 are my favorite cars of all times. And now, I'm a happy owner of a 94 C4 LT1 that looks pretty much as the one shown here!
Finally got my attainable 85 vette. Sure the tee shirts are gone now lol but watched till the end.
They are both beautiful cars. And Ferrari's have a certain 'panache'. But let's face it: for us mere mortals a good Corvette provides lots of fun driving for a lot less maintenance cost: I can get work done on my C4 Corvette at just about any good repair shop in my area, and I can get routine maintenance items (filters, etc) from any car parts store (or Walmart for that matter). Not to say Ferrari's are not completely impractical they are after all one of the world's great performance cars..but for me a Corvette is a more practical choice at a very high performance per dollar basis.
I agree, the Corvette is a bargain, parts are cheap and plentiful and the car is easy to work on. The 328 is actually one of the most reliable Ferraris out there and it does not need an engine out service to do the belts. The 328s are still attainable for average working folk but they are starting to go up.
It would be a better comparison with the earlier look Corvette C4 (1984 to 1990) with round taillights
Such an awesome review. Thank you.
I have a C4, in a country where they were never sold by GM, so they're rare. Funny, I've often thought to myself that it has the wow factor of a Ferrari, but I can actually afford one. And only a couple of days ago, in my mind I was comparing the C4 to a 308. Then this pops up 🙂
There is always a pro about a Ferrari in comparison with other cars, it's a Ferrari!
You can't argue with that. The truth is, the Ferrari is a true driver's car. Forget the name, forget the prestige, the 328 is an amazing machine.
I picked up a 93 c4 that needs some love a while back. Runs great and drives well but cosmetically it needs a few things. Shortly afterwards I accidentally bought a mint 2000 viper. The viper feels so much more modern but there's something special about driving the c4. Also the viper is so nice I don't like to drive it everyday. The Vette can handle it. I'd like to get a 308/328 to round out my targa collection
i just bought one:)
I was very impressed by the design features: engine, suspension, chassis body panels, design that’s why I chose it. plus the maintenance is affordable even outside us, so many parts available that it becomes hard to take a decision on what to buy :)
How does the C4 take corners compared to the 308 and 328? That's what I want to know
0.9 Gs
I have a '89 328 that had a hard time running against a '91 Corvette that I used to have. It doesn't stand a chance against the Corvettes that I own now.
And the value of C4's and just about every C has gone up since it was reported that the new C8 lets the hood fly up when you are screaming along at 35 MPH. A Corvette spokesperson blamed driver error, which to some point it correct. THEY bought the car in the first place. And they also correctly pointed out tht since there is no motor under the "hood" it is actually called a trunk, and as we all know, the trunk flying open is far worse that if the hood crashes into the windshield.
There is nothing cooler than C4's clamshell hood. C4 has the DNA of a supercar. I personally can't stand the styling of the C8. It looks like a Hyundai crashed into an Audi which was then ran over by a Kia.
@@LimitedEditionMotorcars You were expecting the Americans to be innovators??? Not since the internet. Now they just post "What should the new Corvette look like" for their ideas. And never mind how it looks. Just the fact that it always stayed down unless you opened it is a huge retro improvement. "My C8's hood flew up when I was on the road!. Dealer. "Well that's odd because we never had a problem with a C4. Is it a convertible? Maybe by accident you crawled over the windscreen on the highway to check the coolant?"
I would love to have that Ferrari 328!
The 328 is an amazing car.
Don't sell the corvette get your numbers somehow you can do it
Not selling anything yet.
Man I love seeing the Corvette absolute favorite car
The 328 is not bad either 😊
@@LimitedEditionMotorcars love that car too but im a Corvette fanatic
I see that 😁
I like both a lot, but I always support America so my support goes towards the vettes, especially now with the C8. But the Ferraris and Lambos and stuff are still badass.
Ill take the black c4 but in a convertible.
Good choice 👍
A Ferrari 348 would've been a better comparison for that 1992-1996 Chevrolet Corvette.
They were birn in the 79's? First i heard of it
Oh ggood grief these guys are like 15yo amateurs. Of course vette is wider...180cm vs 172...and its not the width that make the tyres more modern...it's the profile and diamtere
Man the Corvette was inspired by not Ferrari ,,it was the Porsche 928,, this is not so,,,not so,,the 928 came out in 78,, but Chevy did copy it in more way than this,, the 928 was inspired by the muscle American cars,,
Neet little place looks like there plenty of space for more cars ,looking better then mine that for sure. What you plan to do would u be loading more video around the shop n build it up, how is that going when lossing a job. I lost mine Thursday n went to construction, had to keep moving.
Thanks. The plan for now is to clean it up and make it presentable. We have two old lifts we are going to install. Then it will be storage/workshop. RACE 'EM!!! >: D
No race?
I can walk faster than these cars lol
If YOU see similarities between a 328 and a C4, you should not call yourself a car guy.
metal vs fiberglass
mid engine vs front
high rev vs low rev, pushrod v8
the list goes on....
there are actually no similarities that are relevant for a sports car between these 2.
pretty much ALL OTHER V8 sports cars have more similarities: 928 Porsche e.g. Aston Martin or whatever but NOT a ferrari.
Remember corvette is Chevy
Less to repair
Sometimes you can yourself
Yes and no. The 328 is actually pretty simple and one the most reliable Ferraris in history of the brand.

@@LimitedEditionMotorcars I tried to ,but it woud'nt let me some how...........?????????
I think the Vette would win in a street race, those lt1 v8 have some power down low rpm
C4 is way better
These cars have no similarities other than the body and aerodynamics. They are from 2 totally different eras. I am Italian myself and I have to go with the c4. Both are legendary always will be.
Chevy: “Hey Ferrari can we pay you to copy your car for 15 years? We want to destroy the iconic stingray styling and piss off a generation of people”
The C-4 by far!
Ferrari all the way .. Corvettes are nice American cars
The 328 is a masterpiece of a machine.
Goodfellas Garage absolutely
Plus the your Corvette has a much bigger engine not a fair comparison Ferrari’s are powerful Corvettes and Porsches are all about aiding engine
Ferrari 328 ❤️
Perhaps a C4 ZR1 would be more fair of a comparison price wise? Different story then lol
Well, the ZR1 came out in 1990 and the 328 did not exist anymore by that time. The 512 TR would be a more appropriate comparison to the ZR1.
kool! lets goo!! congrats on big risk takin!! sub just coz that.
Thanks! You live once, if you are not taking risks, you are not really living.
Ferraris attract the attention of women very well. From experience, I find Corvettes more satisfying to actually drive. Love my new 2019 Corvette C7 Grand Sport with its Manual Transmission.
I never had any woman pay attention when I was in a Ferrari. Ferraris mostly attack other dudes lol. By the way, I love the C7, I think it's one of the best looking modern Corvettes.
Some won't like this..but the C4 corvette and F40 Ferrari has the same wheel base length at 96 inches wheel...close to the same height..F40 is only about 4.9 inches longer..very similar.
Kinda bad news about the non give away, but maybe you should do more videos with the vet . Thinking ppl still love them & they're so over looked.

My 96 C4 picked up in mint condition for $12k. So attainable and performs on the highway. No problems in 3 yrs. Why would I need a over priced Ferrari?
The 328 is an amazing car. Don't judge until you drive one. Once you do, you will understand why it's worth every penny.
c4 corvette is just a NSx with better taillights.
