    This is probably the best optioned Ghibli you've ever shown on the channel. Beautiful car and love the colour and interior bits! At 100 grand though, that seems very steep; its probably worth looking at Quattroportes for that sort of money.
    Also, at around 6 mins in, you were saying the outro... everyone makes mistakes though 😂

    it would have been nice to have the center cap of the wheels in BLUE logo, I have seen a few this would make the calipers stand out even more!.like the kick sensor, wish I had it on mine :( quick ? when in sports mode does the heat come out of one or both exhausts tips?the seats are kick ass!curious to know if you can literally change the seats if you wish to buy them?

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  5 лет назад

      I’ve never had anyone try to option out those seas but I’m sure if you switched to sports seats with the natural leather it would be quite expensive. I’m not sure if Masi would let you order them independently because they don’t like to mix and match different parts with different vents. And yeah you’re not the only one that has noticed but the heat/exhaust flow is different with the valves are changed.

    @LearningFast 5 лет назад +1

    I just checked and if you titled that car and immediately tried to trade it in at a dealer with less than 100 miles on it the KBB value would be under $60k!
    40% as you drive it off the lot is an insane amount of money to throw away. The leases on these things are not good either. At least with the lease you can escape from it in 3 years but the rent charge and interest on this expensive of a car would just be crazy.
    Here is the only situation that might make it worth it. If you leased the car and had a ton of negative equity to roll into the car but totaled it through no fault of your own then you might be able to drive a nice car for a few thousand dollars for a few months.
    The insurance company would take a massive hit though because of gap insurance.

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  5 лет назад +1

      Yeah with figures like that, I would ONLY recommended leasing if that were the case. Unless you plan on keeping it for the lifespan of its loan. Then a purchase would be fine but hey some people will pay cash and call it a day. Logically though, the lease makes more sense.

    • @LearningFast
      @LearningFast 5 лет назад +1

      Rons Rides even if you pay cash for it you would still lose $40k immediately. Why would anyone buy this car brand new? It just doesn’t make any sense now that we know how bad the depreciation is.

    • @LearningFast
      @LearningFast 5 лет назад +1

      I checked just now and the resale value of a 2016 Lexus IS350 matches the resale value of a 2016 FULLY LOADED Ghibili despite the fact that the Maserati probably cost $40k more to begin with.
      It appears that the resale value isn’t that bad after the initial hit. If you buy a 1-2 year old Maserati it actually might make sense. Almost all of the depreciation comes immediately when you drive it off the lot.

  • @flyingphoenix113
    @flyingphoenix113 5 лет назад +2

    I think it's partially a perceptual problem. The early Ghiblis were simply not up to wearing the Maserati badge. Simple as that. Poor fit and finish. A plethora of reliability issues. And an overreliance on Chrysler switchgear. However, the Ghibli is arguably a different car to the one it once was. Different steering, different styling, different interior, different power, different infotainment interface, etc. Whilst it may not be worth $100k, the Maserati Ghibli finally makes a compelling case for itself. Sadly, it's always going to be judged by the flaws early models (and that wretched Doug DeMuro video).

    • @RonsRides
      @RonsRides  5 лет назад +1

      You're right, the damage has been done and the perception of what the Ghibli once was will apply to everyone's minds as to what the models of today are with thats not entirely true. Sucks to see that happen...

    • @LearningFast
      @LearningFast 5 лет назад +1

      Rons Rides it is interesting how different the markets are. I have had my eye on a 2018 Alpha QF that has sat on the lot for over 6 months here locally. It has a $79k sticker and was advertised at $73k for most of that time.
      They took another $10k off the sticker last week but it might go down even further if it doesn’t sell soon. If that car is still on the lot in December with a $55k or less price it will be very hard to pass up on.
      I honestly think there is a luxury sedan bubble coming. They just aren’t selling well enough for some manufacturers. If it doesn’t improve by Christmas I think a few manufacturers will have to make drastic changes in their offerings.

    Most overpriced car on road. Only real maserati left is the gt. They depreciate so much so fast. Driving off from 100k is worth 70 right away. I bought the ghibli in end of 13 when new. And did it up that it looked like they do now. Had black moldings and door handles painted car color. 22' rims in black, all chrome was deleted wrapped black w emblems painted black on silver car on red interior w red calibers. I removed that ugly ghibli emblem from rear and off the radio screen and put a small maserati emblem in place of that one. Looked beautiful, but was worth shit right away. Mine was 102k. 120 with all that I did to it. They are ruining maserati bc now u see ppl that are in ghettos and lowlife ppl driving them bc they can get one for less then 30k now. I see these at the auction in 16s for 32k and 14s for 25k w 50k miles. Being an exotic car dealer and deal w Ferrari and all the rest. The gran turismo is the only maserati any true exotic buyers and collectors want anything to do with and I agree w them. They sound nothing like the real v8. The lifestyle is the gt or v8 quattro. The ghibli doesn't fit in the respect category.

      You want some salt to go with those fries? Lol I feel you being a Ghibli wonder myself but damn, sounds like the Ghibli broke up with you and banged your best friend. So much animosity. Those early models were def much different than the 2019’s and while they do have their issues including depreciation, they look and sound good no matter who in the ghetto is driving them.

      @@RonsRides after owning a gt now for almost 2yrs it just has no comparison and didn't feel like a maserati since have a true maserati. And as far as depreciation and anyone now being able to get one. Maserati is supposed to be a symbol of prestige and success. Kills it when anyone can get one

      @@RonsRides much cheaper, more like $60k. For $100k you get a 2018 BMW M5, which is 10x better, has 605 hp, better tech, more size, better EVERYTHING and it will hold it's value much much better

      @@RonsRides Rich, deep blues, burgundys, greens, etc. On cloudy overcast days, grey cars are THE worst case scenario for visibility. Grey is the ultimate no need to ever wash color. Look up the studies done on car washing....pretty sad. Meanwhile, it is a Maserati. All good! Funny thing is, I bought my New 2016 GTS with full CF package for much less this spring
