how long does it take to animate about a minute?
Obviously depends how complex the shots are, but my last 30-second video took 8 hours (Portal - Hacked). This one took about 2 days. Once the animation is done, then you also have the rendering, editing, colour-grading, any extra visual effects, etc. Plus all the audio recording and mixing before animation. =P
Projects like Meet The Cores also have a lot of other voice-actors, so I need to constantly polish the scripts and then allow time for them to record and deliver the lines. These things take a long time. ;)

I admit, I DON’T know, makes me feel guilty that we get all this cool content and I can’t appreciate the effort put into it properly.
2 days for 30 seconds of high quality animation man think you have to work nonstop for over a week to make a video 10 minutes long

Honestly, Harry using the fact sphere as main narrator through his videos is genius. I just side to side compared his lines and the actual in game voice from the fact sphere an it's a perfect match.

Wow, Harry. You need more in-depth comments. Good to hear Going Home 2 and Meet the Cores 3 are underway. Us Portal fans can't get enough, it seems. Even after the release of Chell, we want Aperture to keep ticking along. Something charming about that place perhaps? You and your friends did well with Portal Stories: Mel and I adore the increased difficulty in the PS: Mel game. Gives us a little context of what happened after GLaDOS died and after Chell was put back into the Relaxation Vault. Is it true that Valve themselves endorse your work? All-in-all, we're glad to hear from you again, Harry. I know RUclips is a thankless job and all, but thank you, Harry. Truly.
coming back to this channel made me realise just how much stress harry was put under - i'm honestly surprised he never gave up. but i'm glad he didn't, in the end it certainly didn't let us down.
i really appreciate all the hard work and time put into these videos mind boggling how a small group of people could dedicate enough time to do this. amazing.

Shark Lord Yes I know as well it takes a while to make 3D animations. I’ve never made a full animation though, but from the amount of time it takes me to make a simple image I can try and estimate.

So many of the people who comment on you being lazy are just assholes like seriously YOU try making perfectly well made animations with voice acting, music, and more in such a short time. These things take time especially for just one person to do all the animating. People have lives you know and don't have all the time in the world to work on things. And Harry you just keep doing what you're doing and keep up the good work!

Something I can answer! 'F' comes from, I believe, the video game Call of Duty: Ghosts, wherein at one point, you are offered the button prompt at a funeral in what is meant to be a poignant moment mourning the loss of your comrade: "Press F to pay respects". A lot of people found this hilariously ridiculous, so it became common to use F to mean you pay respects, when a gamer died or failed hard, in order to show that you 'empathise' in a humorous way with their misfortune, or in other cases if you think someone's left or rage quit or such, in which case you're 'F'ing their loss; in this instance, F is referring to your lack of recent content and thus your 'disappearance'; it is meant to humorously mourn you.

I feel really sorry for you to see alllll these negative comments about your work supposingly "cringy and lame".
Knowning how much time and dedication you have to put in order to create only a few second of SFM make me sad for you.

And here I was, impressed by how often Harry101UK posts things on his channel. I can't believe some people consider it's too long between new videos... I mean, for god's sake... Look at the quality of those things. And it's animation! Animation is a slow process. Every rig must be animated on every frame. And even if you use a load sh** of key frames, it's still very, very long to do to achieve such quality/complex shots. Plus rendering, editing, visual effects, checking colors,... And that's just for the images. Then there's the voice recording and editing, plus everything about music and sound effects... And I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting half of it here. Like writing the script... Holy ship, the more I think about it, the more I'm impressed.
I thought that the portal songs were *actually* from the official Portal community! Mind. Blown. I can't believe that *you* created that music! It's amazing! It's mind blowing!

Hey Harry, let me just say that your videos are amazing and that it doesn't matter how long you take to make them. The important is that you are satisfied with them so we can keep on getting quality content.
These animations must take ages to do, considering how high-tech they are. If I'm being honest, some people in this video asking "WHAR IZ DAT SEQUOL COOMING HAIAHYOIUYGH!" Are extremely uncaring and douchey. As excited as I am for MTC 3, I'm not yelling for it to come out, so instead, I'm going to say this: I'm very excited for Meet the Cores three, it looks extremely cool and funny, good luck, HARRY101UK!
I think the eye lids are for camera/eye protection. It's like a lense cap for a camera.
Look at Wheatley's model where he's broken. There are literal gunshot dents on his eye lids and face-ring.
Wheatley does not blink in his standard idle animation, so they don't necessarily need to blink.
I guess the eye lids, besides protection, also serve as form of bodily communication. The way a person blinks is part of that. Like, rapid blinking means alertness in case of surprise or fear.
But why do they do it? Well its Aperture. Because they can.

Wow, i cannot fathom how you animate emotions when animating these cores, BRILLIANT!
I've tried to teach my 8 y/o daughter (since she first started watching YT a few years back) about editing, and animation. How hours and hours of work can be shown in a 15 min video, and a minute of animation could take a month or more.
I want her to know hard work when she sees it.
Otherwise in a few years she would turn into a entitled preteen, much like some of your comment section 😂
