    following the first two weeks back home after my trip to nyc, feeling an immense wave of creativity. trying to open up more and be transparent, vulnerable and honest about the realities of running a business and building a sustainable life. expectations are always ironically opposite of reality - although it can be disappointing at times, it only makes fruition that much more rewarding. excited to share my feelings with you all xoxo

    Hi Erin! I wanted to say that I appreciate your transparency because I think so many of us, not just content creators/influencers, try to always make our life look “better” online. I think even though you didn’t sell as much as you hoped at the yarn shop, half is still great and now you got your name out there to new people. And I think it says a lot that you were brave enough to take that risk and try something new. Don’t be so hard on yourself, you’re doing great. ❤️ sending love

    ERIN!! You are such a great and inspiring creator. Reaching 100K subscribers and featuring your own yarn in a shop are not small tasks. I’ve looked up to you for a long time and I’m super proud of how far you’ve come. I’ve been a silent supporter since you started but have only recently started coming out of my shell and interacting. I work two jobs and still don’t feel as productive as you are! The way you manage your time amazes me 🦋💕

    The scarf/belt seems really cool! I would recommend knitting in another color/yarn (probably non-variegated) so that the stitch pattern is more clear so customers can make good yarn decisions. You should also definitely post to ravelry! There’s a big crowd of fiber artists there that exclusively pattern shop there, so it’s a whole new market :)

    Thank you for sharing your experience with your pop up shop and your disappointment with the outcome. I had a similar experience last month when I participated in a makers market and I knitted so many pieces and clocked so many hours of work with the expectation that most of my items would sell😭 I only ended up selling one clothing item that I made, and while it was still a good experience at the market and I was proud of myself for even being there, I definitely felt disappointed in the outcome of sales/work ratio. But it happens to the best of us! I love your work and your creations are amazing! Keep it up girl!!💛💛👏🏾

    LOVE the honesty, Erin. Thank you for sharing the ups and downs and realities. I get very excited and get high expectations when I do a new exciting thing too (like starting my Etsy shop) but some things are harder than you expect

      I’m so so glad you appreciate my honesty on this!! It’s so exciting to try new adventures or launch new things, but it can be a little discouraging when it doesn’t translate how you wished with the public. Speaking openly on this is new to me as well, but I’m really happy and relieved to see that it’s resonating positively, thank you! 💖

    This vlog was so nice and easy going! And I gotta say that brown looks great on you as a colour.
    So excited to see you design pstterns, writing them up and getting them tested! I've been dealing with some stuff that has kept me from crocheting too much (and thus testing for you😢), but I am massively cheering you on from the sidelines❤

    Hey, I have a video request, can u make a beginner tutorial on different yarn fibers like which ones are the best for what type of projects and their pros and cons and stuff. It would be really helpful bcs I have been crocheting for like more than a year and I never thought of checking the yarn fiber as well while buying them and when I watched few of ur videos, I realised there are sooo many different fibres available so I started to do a little research on the yarn fibers but did not find a satisfactory video on youtube. So can u pls pls make one on this topic??

    • @itserinb
      @itserinb  11 месяцев назад +1

      Ironically, I filmed and uploaded a “yarn type” video like 6 months ago and never posted it but I’m thinking about doing an updated one just like this!! 💖

    I think it's super normal for products to perform differently in store vs. online. I hear many artists talk about what sells well at a craft fair might not do as well online and vice versa. Different target audiences I guess?

    • @itserinb
      @itserinb  11 месяцев назад

      Yes! It was a completely different audience and age difference. I tried to guess which would be best for that audience but was a little shocked when I realized the difference in investment vs profit 🫣

  • @pfftxoxo1502
    @pfftxoxo1502 11 месяцев назад +1

    I think the difference between in store and online buying is when you buy online you simply buy because you like the colour. In store you get the opportunity to actually feel the yarn and while colour is beautiful, texture is a very big part of knitwear

    • @itserinb
      @itserinb  11 месяцев назад

      Yes!! I think a huge difference was the crowd I was selling to. Def a noticeable age difference and project type of crowd, whereas most of my online sales are a younger age group too!
