But high-class people ain't looking at jayda damn wayda for the latest beauty trends tho. Her audience is working class people and she has excluded them. If she sold the product at half the price she'd probably make twice as much money.
As a brand strategist pricing energetics is my FAVVV topic. Jayda *needs* to price her products the way she does. If she didn't her brand would lack alignment.
Her target audience and actual audience are two different things. Majority of her fans are regular working class people. Kylie was able to market to middle class people because that was already her audience to begin with. Same with Kenya Moore
Supporting black business is fine but understand you're only helping one black person get rich, and this person has no obligation to do a single thing for the black community, which is the among the poorest in the nation. It feels a little tone deaf but she's a rich woman and that's kinda their specialty. I'm surprised she's not marketing to white women who are new to the darker lip liner/lighter gloss combo that we've been rocking for years. That being said, a $75 lip kit (after shipping and taxes) is more of a special occasion splurge than a luxury, even to a working class gal like me.
Regardless of her price, it’s her lip kit and she can sell it for however much as she pleases like you stated. It’s simple, either you’re gonna buy it or not. In all of her business ventures, she has always sold out. People are downing it because it’s her, that’s it.
It really is overpriced, but it’s like the Kylie lip kit situation. It’s the experience, the quality, the packaging, the It factor! I mainly support artsy brands that I see myself gravitating towards. Having a product center you is a lot of hard work & dedication. I will definitely splurge & try it out. But for me personally whos always in fashion & beauty world. It’s going to be a challenge to commodify it. But Fenty Beauty, Lys & Pat mcgraft are in the same range or cheaper with good formulas. I buy every price range even 50$ for tom ford lip gloss. But to do well in beauty you have to connect on a personal level & demo it. & do a test run in whatever pop up store or beauty store.
But it’s not like Kylie tho, Kylie fan base was already middle class Jayda’s isn’t. Jayda’s audience is literally complaining about rent and groceries prices.
@ you’re definitely right! I was trying to be very fair initially, but correct jayda audience is more inclined to watch her on RUclips & Tv shows versus purchase overpriced makeup. I hardly keep up with her unless it’s put into my algorithm. But kylies pricepoint was more affordable & tailored to teen girls. If Jayda wanted a real makeup brand she wouldn’t be the face like Beyonce did with cecred & sir davis. You can see yourself like how riri launch fenty beauty. You saw yourself in the product not the owner in it.
@@HighEndRose ooouu yes, that part! Seeing yourself in the product is so important. That’s how I felt unconsciously which makes the product undesirable to me.
No one complaints about Red Lobster prices and they aren't the cheapest for seafood. Her price is her price. There are dupes out, whatever you can afford or willing to buy stick to that. If it's not in your price range, try to find products that are. ❤
I can guarantee you that there were women who wasn’t in her target audience who still gathered up the money to pay for her lip kit. There are so many people who don’t have money who still splurge and that’s why they stay broke.
Who is taking makeup advice from Jayda? She's a pretty girl, but I don't think of her when it comes to makeup. Like her makeup is cool, but average. Same with her fashion, but that's just me.🤷🏾♀️
I feel the same as others. I don’t think it’s fair to get mad at her for selling her product for $60 when if you got the same thing from Hailey Bieber Rhode line, it would most likely be $60 as well. Not everyone is her target audience and that’s okay. Jayda is selling this product for girls who can afford it. If you can’t, there’s always Ulta that sell make up at a more affordable price point and both are okay. I feel like black people can be very belittling but turn around and want to be treated a certain way. Let Jayda get in her Rhode bag.
For the people that have an issue with her products where was this criticism for Kylie Jenner? She literally was selling lip kits by false advertising with her fake lips and no one batted an eye.🤷🏽♀️😂
This is an obvious cash grab🙄 she doesn’t even wear makeup and has literally said out of her mouth on her podcast that she is NOT a “makeup girly.” But y’all go ahead and feel like y’all “rich enough” to throw your money in the trash🤷🏿♀️
