    The bonnet is 1000% the reason that woman was stopped and it is understandable. If you look up the videos of organized thefts at lululemon of which there have been many in recent years it is always a group of young black kids wears sweats/casual clothes and bonnets that are doing it. Then they sell the stuff online at a discount. So she for sure was profiled based on that.

    I remember reading about how the old lululemon ceo was racist, discriminatory, and size phobic (wouldn’t stock anything past a 10/12 at some points). You can still find the evidence about him being against bigger sizes, but they got the evidence of racism/discrimination pretty much scrubbed. Anyway I see black peoples buying lulu the same way as when they buy skims: people trying to buy acceptance from groups of people that snicker, take the money, and actively discriminate/play in black people’s faces behind the scenes.

    Peeps, please don't let the bonnet (a separate issue) distract from the primary issue of discrimination. I saw so many videos from the Civil Rights Movement of black people marching in their Sunday best and back then and in present day we still see stereotypes. We gotta stop calling Lulu “athleisure”. It’s not. It’s activewear. They do make some work clothing that fits better on athletic bodies though. And they have actual athletes who represent their brand just like Nike does. And they offer discounts to fitness professionals and host fitness classes at some stores. Also chip saying the brand isn’t everyone was referring to the plus sizes. Lulu started selling plus sizes around 2020-2021. Previous to that they only went up to a size 10/12 in most items. And barely that. But they’ve had diverse models as far as race since i can remember as I’ve been wearing Lulu since highschool. But also racial discrimination happens everywhere. I love my local Lulu but I’ve been in malls where every store disrespects me and thinks I’m lesser because I’m black. It really depends where you go. Not the brand.

    It really is overpriced, but it’s like the Kylie lip kit situation. It’s the experience, the quality, the packaging, the It factor! I mainly support artsy brands that I see myself gravitating towards. Having a product center you is a lot of hard work & dedication. I will definitely splurge & try it out. But for me personally whos always in fashion & beauty world. It’s going to be a challenge to commodify it. But Fenty Beauty, Lys & Pat mcgraft are in the same range or cheaper with good formulas. I buy every price range even 50$ for tom ford lip gloss. But to do well in beauty you have to connect on a personal level & demo it. & do a test run in whatever pop up store or beauty store.

      But it’s not like Kylie tho, Kylie fan base was already middle class Jayda’s isn’t. Jayda’s audience is literally complaining about rent and groceries prices.

      @HighEndRose 17 дней назад

      @ you’re definitely right! I was trying to be very fair initially, but correct jayda audience is more inclined to watch her on RUclips & Tv shows versus purchase overpriced makeup. I hardly keep up with her unless it’s put into my algorithm. But kylies pricepoint was more affordable & tailored to teen girls. If Jayda wanted a real makeup brand she wouldn’t be the face like Beyonce did with cecred & sir davis. You can see yourself like how riri launch fenty beauty. You saw yourself in the product not the owner in it.

    Jackie has always been in this for herself while using black issues to gain support to benefit her financially. She’s no different from the entertainment industry using black artists to build their platforms and then completely abandoning them once they hit their desired success. Look at what happened with all the black sitcoms in the 90’s. She jumps on whatever the hot button issues are.

    I stopped watching Jackie when she shifted away from makeup tutorials and into stuff way outside my budget. I was glad to see her move on up. I honestly don't care about her being a mean girl but Im just a casual viewer, not a super fan. I enjoyed your video essay. Well done! Criticism balanced with praise, a clear trajectory, and an inspiring mesage at the end. Keep up the good work!

    I’m not a Jackie fan anymore but I find it funny how people are calling her a mean girl now that it’s directed to her followers but was okay with it when she bullied brands, their founders, and clowned their products instead of justing doing a review. Jackie bullied brands to carry darker shades but never consistently supported black own brands that already carried those very shades. Also what is the issue with her doing luxury videos? People should be able to evolve and it without it be an “issue”.

      Most people were subscribed to her to get makeup tips and reviews, not to watch her flaunting her wealth. This is just my understanding lol.

      @msmonaishere 13 дней назад

      @ what’s wrong with someone flaunting their wealth? Did you want her to show being poor forever? People grow and evolve and so should your expectations of them. You’re still on Jackie from 2013 and she’s moved on from that. If people don’t like it they should move on from her. Check why you feel triggered about someone showing their wealthy lifestyle. She’s holding a mirror up to your insecurities or fear around wealth. Wealth and luxury can find you too if you believe in it.

    What happened, simple. Blown up ego. She thinks she has "made it" leads to her accountability. I was never a fan of hers to start, now I know my instinct was right. True colors start to show as she began to grown
