As a DL player I can confirm that Konami also fails to balance their PVP events there like Duelist Kingdom or Legacy Duels
I actually like such events where u can only play a few chosen cards, however once some shxt got exploit, everyone & their grandma will abuse that to the fullest

I've played Monarchs since forever, and I also used them in Theme Chronicle. I won most duels easily and could get all gems in one day.
Master duel aside, would monarchs be viable with a small Horus package? Just curious on your thoughts
Makes them even weaker to Ash, in Master duel there's also Maxx C... I wouldn't play them in here..
Kashtira are the best partners for monarch
@@Mercaison every monster that lets you special summon them and doesn't lock you afterward is the best partner for monarch
the bad part is that, the more non engine you put in your monarch deck the less consistent you can lock your opponent.
@@youtubeenjoyer7279 kashtira are different: they can let you play also if you don't lock your opponent, they can be normal summoned and be treated as "fake monarch" to lock your opponent with the fiekd spell. Ogre can also be searched with the continuous spell and be a target for the search spell...
They have the best sinergy and are also good as going second cards.
Not monarchs specifically, but there has been a recent top in the ocg using the horus engine + level 8 tribute summons (most notably light and darkness dragon) I've seen some variants run Erebus as well.

You have a low commitment version with Leaf as setup for next turn and a higher commitment with Granite as a negate.
Grind game, some going second cards to fill the slots of banned cards (Shifter is banned) and level 11 Trish as an option. Baby just runs.

This is a very unpopular opinion: for this specific event; maxx c is not too bad.
Most decks don't special summon too much: 2 special summons after maxx c resolves is fine.
It feels like 2012-2014, Maxx c was not an issue back then and did prevent the overly long turns making it a fair trade-off between going first and second.
Don't get me wrong, Maxx c should be banned in most situations and if it gets banned the overcombo decks need to get hit accordingly.

Having DDDs be unplayable but Solfachord/Pendulum pile untouched INCLUDING ELECTRUMITE just makes no sense to me. Konamis banlist philosophy makes no sense and needs to be re-thought.

Ojamarmed A-to-Z is also untouched.
With no kaijus if you full combo and make A-to-Z with protection you automatically win I don't know how you out a 4k towers through 7-9 negates.

In a sixty card pile with as many One card "summon Ojama blue from deck somehow" converts to a 4k towers that's also a herald.
P.S. none of the cards involved are OPT.
It starts like this
Normal summon Ojama Blue, go to BP, Crash Ojama Blue.
Ojama Blue add Ojamagic and Ojamatch.
Ojamatch send Ojamagic to search Ojama Blue and Amy Srmed Dragon, Ojamatch also let's you summon the Ojama Blue you just searched. Ojamagic adds the 3 vanilla Ojamas. You repeat that loop sending Vanilla Ojamas if you can't send more Ojamagics (the vanilla Ojamas are garnets so you play x2 of each and drawing any one means you can only resolve Ojamagic once this turn.
You repeat the Ojamatch add an Armed Dragon, Add Ojama Blue summon blue and crash until you can't crash Blue because you'd die or run out of Ojamatches.
Anyways at the end of your BP you want to end with 9 Ojama Monsters in hand or GY. 3 Ojamassimilations, and Ojama Pajama.
Ojamassimilations #1 banish Ojamas from GY summon the three materials for XYZ dragon Cannon and contact fuse then discard all the fodder Ojama cards in your hand to clear the opponents board.
Ojamassimilations #2 banish 3 Ojamas from GY and summon the pieces for ABC Dragon Buster use the ABC pieces for whatever you want as long as their in field/GY. Fuse by banishing them from field/GY. Contact fuse A-to-Z by using ABC and XYZ on field. And you need 3 monster zones empty to use Ojamassimilation #3 to summon yet more ABC pieces from Hand/Deck/GY. You the use their union effect to equip to A-to-Z
A-Assault gives monster Immunity when equipped, B-Buster is spell immunity, and C-Crush is trap immunity. You the. Use the GY effect of Ojamatch/Ojamassimilation to shuffle back 4 banished Ojamas to draw 1 (you literally draw 3 cards just cause)
Ojama Pajama can search any Ojama card then discard a card if prioritize banishing and shuffling back the Vanilla Ojamas you can turn Ojamagic online so at the start of your opponents main phase you can search whatever ojama card is in deck discard an Ojamagic to search the 3 Vanillas so you functionally have 9 discards for A-to-Z and it's immune to everything so you only need to negate S/T removal and any effect that could be used to summon a 4k+
Note: The ABC pieces also protect A-to-Z by battle once by destroying themselves so they need to summon two 4k dudes and them Ojama Pajama also protects A-to-Z by destruction/battle.
