  • If you have a clear understanding on how you best enjoy your boat life and value things like, FAST transit speed, QUIET and COMFORTABLE ride and LUXURY accomodation for 2 - 4 adults then this boat may be very interesting to you.
    If you dream of popping across to the Bahamas or down to Key West and being equiped with an ALL WEATHER platform then you should put the Wellcraft 435 on your short list.
    It's for that style of intimate adventure with a partner or close friends where I believe this boat is going to shine the brightest. While she's capable of the day boat function without a doubt I was left with the feeling that this really is for the man with a mission.
    Let me know what you think?

    Dan Dan Dan👏👏👏 Great review on a great boat! What I just cannot understand why you don't have hundreds of thousands of subscribers at this time. You have the best and most thorough boat reviews on RUclips. I have been around Wellcraft boats for decades and I have to say this may be the best model Wellcraft has ever built!

      I appreciate that so thanks! I would say my content is more specifically aimed at people who are specifically buying boats so I probably have less mass market appeal (unless you like my jokes haha). When I visit boat shows the people who stop to say g'day are all actively purchasing boats and using my content to educate themselves. That was may career for the previous 20yrs so it makes sense that my audience is probably more niche and less mass market. But maybe one day that will change and it's be thanks to guys like you watching and commenting and supporting so cheers!

    I spoke with the UK dealers at the Southampton Boat Show and asked if they'd fit 2 or 3 Cox diesel outboards instead and they said that as the rigging all happens at the factory in Poland they won't do anything but the Mercurys. Which is a massive shame IMO as this is a boat for touring and cruising and with fuel flow at 29 knots of 0.12 nautical miles per litre that's over 8 litres per mile or, given our UK fuel costs, almost £20 per mile! So, to take a cruise of 60 nautical miles each way (Falmouth to the Scillies) would cost £2,400 which is far too much for a short day trip. Overall this really kills it for me in the UK.

    • @chippyjohn1
      @chippyjohn1 8 месяцев назад +2

      Because Poland is owned by the USA, so they have to cater towards the US market. They can just invade another country for cheaper petrol.

      Haha that just popped into my head when I was thinking abou tthe fuel flow! I probably confuse some people as I guess America gets their fuel from Gulf of Mexico where us Aussies would rely on our Saudi mates to keep the lights on.

I did check it when we left the dock but it was before sunrise and I didn't realise there was a stainless securing piece that wasn't down so yep... ladder down unfortunately :( Really enjoyed getting a chance to see Haulover after watching it on Wavy Boats for thousands of hours over the years haha

    Dan, you seem to cruise all outboard driven boats quite aggressively, at say 80% of WOT. Is there any manufacturers advice as to what they consider 'normal' operating RPM?

    • @BoatLife_DansBoatLife
      @BoatLife_DansBoatLife  10 месяцев назад +2

      When the motors are band new it's best to cary the revs for the first 10hrs or so to avoid a memory building up in the cylinders but in general if you speak with any mechanics these modern outboards can take pretty much anything you throw at them (within reason). I will do two things... first drive for fuel flow efficiency either in the videos or personally and second drive for enjoyment. Fuel flow you will see me down around 4,000 - 4,500 revs depending on the weight of the boat and engine package and when it's for fun you'll see me over the 5,000 rev mark.

    1050 hp is not appropriate for a boat of this size 1200 hp or more

  • @adisolar

    The fuel consumption kills the chances of this boat making it on the market. Only when hydrogen fueled electrics or hydrogen on demand combustion engines replace the petro-diesel garbage, we will see any real chance for these boats to conquer the entry/mid market.

    • @stratolestele7611
      @stratolestele7611 Месяц назад

      How do you figure? What do you expect fuel consumption to be on a boat of that size? You could easily cruise it at 12-15 knots and decrease the consumption considerably.

The boat test was conducted in the United States - so he quite rightly used the system that we use. We in the United States place personal freedom and personal choice over state rule. We love to be different, and we gladly chose to be so - it is a quirk in our ethos. Why do you think millions of people sneak over our border each year? They are not here for the beer and the BBQ. It is the freedom and opportunity, the same reason my wife's grandfather came from Denmark and my great, great, great grandfather came from Germany. You like metric?- fine enjoy yourself.

I currently just don't know anyone from either company as they are not represented in Australia?
