There are many Adighe people in Turkey today; generally all the North Caucasian peoples are known by a collective name “Çerkez” (Circassian) but most people don’t know about the various groups within that general header. They are well known for a smoked cheese that looks a lot like the one you showed in the market, but also for smoked string cheeses and more. Circassians were literally genocided almost entirely by Russians, Krasnodar Krai itself was the center of Circassian land and is now completely Russian, Sochi was a capital of a Circassian tribe that doesn't exist anymore and Russia built the winter Olympic venue on a mass grave, Learn before you post. The string “Circassian Cheese” sold in Turkey is nice, but one friend brought some from the homeland and you could tell they’d worked a lot harder to make it. And it was amazing.
Черкес не собирательное название понятно тебе турок.
Основная масса проживающих в турции это черкесы они же адыги
Beautiful location, beautiful people and beautiful RUclipsr! Thank you! 💜
Loved this. Very beautiful there - and loved seeing the dance - so very interesting. The women looked like they were floating and the men - required so much energy!
Hi Eli....that was beautiful scenery. I love
Mountain ranges!!
Thank you very much Eli for showing places in Russia........ Cheers from Canada
We have a man living here from Canada. :)
@@karugs9032 Where from in Canada.
Hi Eli, thank you for sharing the unbelievable beauty of your russian homeland. Hope, it will be possible soon again to visit Russia and enjoy the rich nature and culture
Lot of Greetings from Germany 👋👋
nice video, beautiful republic!
In the Arab world spécifically in Levant we have small c Circassian communitied but we don't know much about their original region the video is amazing
You must return to your homeland.
The Ottoman Turks settled them there, most of them lives in Turkiye
Spasiba baljšoe, daragaja Eli! I enjoyed, like always, every single minute of your picturesque video. Čistaja duša of yours colored every view of people, activities, landscapes, cities ...
fellow maikop resident here!
would've never guessed that any english-speaking youtuber would come here, even if they're russian lol.
adyghea itself is a cozy little place with a lot of greenery around and maikop fully embodies that
There is a hugely popular guy from Maykop on YT called Dan Sheekoz. His English is not so good and it looks like he is into all sorts of conspiracy theories but English speaking senior citizens seem to love him😂
In fact, she is a Tatar from Bashkortostan
@@rusta3210yes she’s Tatar from perm
Hi! I’m planning to visit maykop, my mom is of Circassian roots and I want to discover this.
Greetings from Botswana Eli,
Thank you for this delightful tour of the Adygea Republic.
It is truly beautiful, great weather, mountains, clear water, friendly people, beautiful traditional dress and dances, delicious cheeses!
- so much to offer.
Appealing in many ways.
I have watched a number of your videos and will continue to follow your travels.
Wishing you safe travelling and good fortune.
Everything about this video, its interviews showing local's perspective, it's scenery, its wiggly hemp joke, it's explanation and camera work showing such beautiful people and places, everything is superb. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of watching and learning. Thank you.
another lovely video, Eli, thank you and regards from Slovenia to all slavs :)
Hi I am following you from Jordan greetings to you I wanted to say that the Royal Guard here is responsible for securing the king they are the Circassians 😊
В России цари также использовали представителей кавказских народов,кавказских воинов:черкесов,чеченцев, оссетин и т д.в качестве своей охраны,так как эти кавказские воины были самоотвержены,преданы государю, мужествены и отважны.
Eli from Russia Thank you for posting.
That was so beautiful!!
Such diversity and beuty!
This was such an amazing place. Actually it is so good that Russia embraces all the different ethnicities within it - it is what unites them all. Perhaps one day I can get to visit places such as this. Love and peace to all xxx
Maybe now but they did once kill 1-1.5 million of them and tried to wipe them out.
@@thorts because of the slave trade on slavs committed by Arab world for 1000 years. The slavic slaves were called al saqaliba
lmao this comment is so wrong and misinformed that it almost sounds like a sarcasm.
@@ivanlester1088 Shut your mouth, there is no need to tell fairy tales here, the genocide was carried out to take away the Black Sea lands of the Circassians, from the map of Adygea at the beginning of the video this is clear to everyone and from the national composition of Adygea.
Adygea itself is barely Adyghe at this point and it's not because of natural birth rates lmao.
Love your channel. Authentic.
PS. Not everyone is going to understand your joke at the end of the hemp segment.
❤ Good appetit my friend❤.
Eli, greetings from Canada, your videos are amazing.
Greetings from New York. Wonderful tour, thank you. 😊❤
This place looks like some paradise in many ways, the market , the friendliness
It could be the place of nostradamus or dracula. Friendly villagers and somewhere a manor with a cruel man. There is some strange oriental vibe in that place.
Very interesting and entertaining episode. The dance and costumes were a special treat! You're a very talented visual storyteller and producer.
Charming. These videos are really interesting. You have the balance between visual stimulus and hard data just right. Great presentation. Kudos.
Eli this was such a wonderful video, you are very funny, and your adventures are amazing; thank you for sharing!! Safe travels and best wishes from the US.
What a vibrant republic! The folks you spoke with appeared to be friendly and welcoming. Learning more about each places you visit is so refreshing. Looking forward to each of your videos.
I keep finding your videos. I love what you do. I have read books by a Dutchman living in Ижевск. I am especially fascinated by the Caucasus region also because I have been to Georgia 🇬🇪
Excellent video!!
Hi Eli, I'm glad you liked Adygea! By the way, the Kabardinians are also Adyghes!
No they are two different tribe
@@eden55272 They are not tribes. They are all one and the same. They were split up by the Russians in order to reduce their numbers and to prevent uprisings against the Russians by dividing them.
@@eden55272 Kabardians are a Circassian tribe. There are multiple Circassian tribes but we all call ourselves Adyghes in our mothertongue, it's our self-designation. The Kabardians do have their own dialect of Adyghe though.
Wow! I had never heard of a place called Adyega. My knowledge of the world grew...Thanks for taking us there. You videos are become an anthropological tour of the Russian Federation. Hurrrah!
Your videos are just superb. Congratulations.
Eli - You are such an excellent teacher. Thank you for new information.
Love your videos especially in the regions of Russia ❤
Another great video,Eli!
Hello Eli, I live in Germany (I'm half German and half Tatar). I was born in Kyrgyzstan and lived there until I was nine years old. Unfortunately, I have never visited Russia. I love your Chanel, I love your videos! Thank you for showing us the beauty of Russia. You are such a Sweetheart!
People there are just genuinely nice and friendly..
It was enough to see a market with lots of cheese and I liked this part of the world. I love cheese and these looked beautiful in the video.

Eli, if you want to get to know the remote, unknown face of Brandenburg as well with it's wolf population, the Spreewald and stuff you should visit this area after fascist dominated Ukraine will have been history. 😮😅😁 😉
Anyone who wants to study wolves does best to first get ready with human rabies shots and guards with guns. Wolves can be mighty vicious and sneaky when they stalk and kill humans. And Russia already has plenty of wolves to study where they survive near St. Petersburg.@@jesina_waldemarina

Thanks Eli - I enjoy learning about the regions you show us😊
Dear sister Eli. How are you on your travels? I must admit you bring your camera to the most unique places on earth. Or is it? Different places brings different energies. Travelling all the time must be great but home is also sweet. Peace and love to you

Awesome video Eli. Your videos gave us a lot of informations about places, cities, regions that I don't know. The interviews with local people allow me to understand the mentality, way of living regarding the region you're visiting.
