What we need is a combined backstory of how they became the street racers they are. A struggle they each had that lead them to find each other, become their true selves and overcome the obstacles holding them back from ruling the streets. Give DJ some sick beats, chuck in some sick drifts and that's a box office movie/series.

Back then they'd have a cluster of computers running for days to render a 4 minute scene, now a high end PC can do (lower quality) ray tracing at 60+ frames each second.
Especially that part with the focal change when Doc is doing laps on the dirt track, and the dust kicks up and it actually looks realistic. And the texturing was really extremely good, so was the lighting and rendering everything. Pixar is just that good

When I saw this movie for the first time I was around 11 and thought of these 4 cars as the coolest character in the whole movie. And that feeling has remained the same even though I'm in High school now. The sudden nostalgia that I experience from watching this clip reminded me that these were one of my favourite characters ever made my Pixar.
Could be more or less a representation of the fact the restomod or classic car tuning movements were still alive and keep on doing so through all of time and coexist with just about any other tuning trend. Souped up Challengers, Camaros, Mustangs and Cudas are cool, independent of the time period.

When I first saw this movie back in 2006, I was ABSOLUTELY IN LOVE with this scene. Me and my cousin would play this entire scene with our Hot Wheels and we had even memorized all of the lines. I always loved Boost. Him and Michael's F430 at the end were my 2 favourite cars in the movie.
These guys had more swag than any high school bully group in any movie ever. And they were on screen for less that 5 minutes.

Snot rod was a personal favorite of mine.
As a kid, I thought these cars looked pretty dumb with the riced modifications. Going back to this scene, the four tuner cars look dope to me now.
