What resident hall did you pick and do you know how much it costs per semester?
It honestly depends on two things. It depends on what type of housing and what meal plan you choose. With housing, there are three different types. There is a housing rate 1, which is newer and nicer buildings. Housing rate 2 is not really new, but it's an older building with no AC. Housing rate 3 is the older buildings with no AC nor heater. Then there are three types of meal plans that you can choose from. One is the 'Gray 10', which is 10 swipes a week + $200 in dining dollars + $150 in BuckID. The second one is the 'Scarlet 14', in which you get the same amount of BuckID and Dining Dollars as 'Gray 10,' but you get 14 swipes. Finally, the last meal plan is unlimited. With the unlimited, you can go to any traditions (Traditions at Morrill, Traditions at Scott, and Traditions at Kennedy). With the unlimited, you only get $100 in Dining Dollars, but no BuckID. With the dining dollars, you can use them at any dining halls on campus (The Union Market, Sloopy's Diner, Woody's Tavern, Marketplace on Neil, etc.). BuckID is pretty much the same, except you can use it at any place on High Street that accepts it. For example, you can use it at Target, Panda Express, Buckeye Donuts, Cane's, etc. There will be a little sticker in the window that will say that they accept it. If you want more details on anything for housing or meal plans, it will on Ohio State's website. I hope this helped!! :)
I should have also mentioned that typically freshman don’t get a chance to pick their dorms. If you pick a learning community, there are certain dorms that they stay in. You don’t get to pick your dorm until your sophomore year.
@@jessecafair8707 omg ty for taking the time to write that all out!! This was so helpful :))
