Our right populist party has been the biggest party for over 20 years now. But even we have universal health care, free college and university, 4-5 weeks of paid leave from work. We (Social Democrats from Switzerland) keep on fighting... Seeing what happens in the US makes me hopeful. Thank you!
I live out in a rural area, and my neighbor, of whom otherwise presents himself as a relatively sane, normal human being on the surface, has an infowars bumper sticker, and many people in close proximity have either Trump stickers on their vehicles, wear, "MAGA," hats, or generally flaunt support in some manner, and at the bottom of our lane is a Trump/Pence sign posted publicly on land that nobody specifically owns where rubbish is collected. When I go to high school, many people have confederate flags on their shirts or generally vocalize support for MAGA policies, and our assistant principle has an Infowars sticker in his office. He might seem like something that The Onion would create, but people still believe this bullshit. That is all.
