I love your speed bag platform you built and I always wanted to do one like that, but I had no idea they had the perfect sized 24 inch round board already cut at Lowes and Hope Depot so that is awesome! I have limited tools so I was worried I would have to cut one out by hand. I may try and attach one to my Everlast stand also to see how that works, which would be a lot more sturdy than the particle board one, and ad pro swivel. Then maybe put one on the wall or two together since I have drywall, and not sure if the stud is in the right place yet as I need to buy a stud finder. I just made a weights bench from wood my nephew seagulls from the factory where he works. I paid $14 AUD for some brackets and screws. My bench will last me forever now. The price of Gym stuff since the lockdown here in Australia has become outrageous IF you can even find it. Making your own gear is the way. Great stuff, big thumbs up buddy!
It's a pleasure to see young people making things themselves, rather than buying everything. One tip i would give you is to have pree marked and drilled the holes. Than you could use a hand ratchet to fit the screws. More difficult but they go in at 90° And you may need an extra pair of hands. None the less a great video, I congratulate you youn man. Ps, the little vibration you are getting is from the timber stud's in the wall, not from the frame. You can't do nothing about that.

And should I get a traditional swivel such as the cheap one that came on my Everlast platform or should I go ahead and buy a title traditional swivel?
Hey there! For the mount itself, are you putting the edge of the round wood flush with the wall/shelves, or does the wood sit a little bit away from the wall? Thanks!

Great video-I may have missed it at the beginning but was the wood already precut round or did you have to have HD have to cut them? Also, can you add more wood layers (maybe 5) to make it sturdier if you wanted using the same process?

Is it possible for me to make one and put it on my everlast double station?(Heavy bag/speed bag combo)my plataform for my speed bag is quite wonky and it dosent let my speed bag bounce completely
Very interesting! I'd like to do the same but with a little - maybe not so little - addition. Since I like to train outdoors and don't want to annoy the neighbors with the loud noise speed bags make, I'm thinking of a portable version similar to the portable basketball hoop. Do you think it's doable?
This is close to the route I was thinking about taking! I’ve been thinking about using 1 layer of 3/4” Oak plywood, followed by 2 or 3 layers of 3/4” MDF board as MDF is extremely heavy compared to wood. I agree with fellow commentator about staggering the directional of the wood grain as that’s how wood mills glue together plywood. I’m probably going to finish my wood with either a dark walnut stain or ebony as my bag is mustard yellow. Either way great video. Also, I highly recommend using Titebond III wood glue as it’s the strongest glue you can use on wood.

i got one form amazon and it doesn't fit where the studs are im thinking of doing this and i think i might use this if i can return the mount and make my own hopefully with a hing so i can put it up and to same room
Hi! Big fan of your videos! Would like to know how has this been holding for you now? Still sturdy? Did you end up having to put any weight on the platform eventually? Or any new modifications to keep it stable?
Rotate the "grain pattern" of the wood 90 degrees for each layer. Should make a stronger and more solid drum when finished.

Holding up awesome no issues so far
Awesome video mate. You definitely went slight overkill with the liquid nails though lol
Tell me about it
Great video man I love the way it turned out , when installing your brackets to the platform did you space them 16” on center to try to Match up With the width of your wall studs? Thanks
Thanks man, yeah lined up with studs.
i got one form amazon and it doesn't fit where the studs are im thinking of doing this and i think i might use this if i can return the mount and make my own hopefully with a hing so i can put it up and to same room
👍🏼🥊
Are you from San Jose? Appreciate the awesome content brother.
if anyone reads this do you think two boards alone would work? 3 boards looks a little too thick for my liking
It might work
Hi! Big fan of your videos! Would like to know how has this been holding for you now? Still sturdy? Did you end up having to put any weight on the platform eventually? Or any new modifications to keep it stable?
Thanks man. Still going strong and no i haven’t had to add any extra weight yet
You just saved me from buying a cheap Everlast kit. I'm using it 24 in diameter 3 inch thick piece of white oak.
