Where is the 30/30 for this game?? So MUCH backstory. Best game I've ever seen.
It’s this game and the Tennessee VS LSU girls semi championship when Pat Head Summit was the coach. Alexis Hornbuckle made the shot that Nicky Anioske missed.
not a tennessee or memphis fan and i still remember where i was when i watched this. such an exciting game.
From a Kentucky fan, Chris Lofton was such a beast. I got to see my town's team play against him, Paris vs Mason County. We always gave him a good game. But he was unconcious from three. That man could hit any shot he wanted to.
This is the game where Bruce pearl felt up Erin Andrews during his halftime interview

I was in my junior year at UT when this game took place...watched it at a friend's house who lived across the river just past the Henley St Brisge. I was so freakin' baked lolol.
I love rick Barnes. But I miss pearl. He loved the university of Tennessee, and he was one heck of a coach for us.

The thing I remember most about that game, was how our big men really stepped up to carry the team, when the guards were having an awful game. Smith and Chism were so clutch, along with the hustle of JP Prince.
I always hated Bruce, but I also always respected him. Great X and O coach and always motivated his players.
This game needs to be happening every year. We that love both teams looked forward to that sooo much. Then they just erased it from the schedule. WTH? Put it back! Football, Mens Basketball, and Lady's Basketball. Knaah Mean?

Vols are special this year!! I watched Gonzaga throttle Iowa, they are crazy good along with Baylor but the Vols are a special team this year.
If they're hitting their shots, nobody can beat us. Other than that, Fulky has to wake up. He's fallen off like he's depressed or something. Triple J (James Jordan) needs to warm up. If Johnson, Springer, Bailey, and Trip J are hitting, it can be a great March. Hopefully Barnes can do better this time with his strategy.

Non conference schedule that year included wins @Xavier(made Sweet 16), @Gonzaga (made NCAA), Ohio State, and a loss to Texas (made The Elite Eight) in the Legends Classic. The schedule also included a very tough road game @Chattanooga, which was probably one of the biggest games in Chattanooga basketball history to be able to host Tennessee in a season like that where Tennessee had a ton of hype in the off season and lived up to it throughout the year. Say what you will about Pearl, but scheduling was NEVER an issue with him. Immediately when he got to Tennessee he started scheduling games that would be good for both exposure and the RPI/NCAA resume. He was great at setting up both.

I'll never forget Tennessee blocking Memphis from getting to the floor, it was epic, i know Bruce orchestrated that troll move, that moment set the pace for the game, Memphis was denied entry into their own arena and lost.
