Did you agree or disagree with any of these? I think I've scrounged up every notable similarity in Elden Ring at this point. Would you like to see more video game music analysis videos?
The Mohg/Gravesite Plain and Enir-Illum/Miquella revelations were so neat!! I love how Elden Ring has storytelling engraved into ever little element of the game
Gravesite Plain taking a bit of Mohg’s theme drives home just how sealed his fate was. He is at peace but the way he went is disturbing, effectively a mindless zombie controlled by Miquella. I really feel like stopping Miquella is a small justice we can bestow to Mohg.
At the start of Mohg's second phase, after the the initial vocals, you can hear a small bit of Radahn's leitmotif. I don't think many people have noticed that. It's around 2:09 during his ost, in case you're curious.
amazing how there are both musical and storyline/narrative parallels in the construction of these soundtracks,, such an underrated aspect in game design and storytelling.
Many of these similarities are due to the composers knowing very well which instruments and voices use for each aspect of an enemy. For example, ancient lords use brasses, those who live in death male chants, etc
When I saw Metyr and Finger Ruins on the timeline, I though you were going to mention how the high strings from about 14-34 seconds in Finger Ruins is pieces of the opening choir of Metyr's theme. I love all the reuse of music in the DLC, definitely helps it be more memorable than their past OSTs.
Cool video. Not sure why there are so many dislikes. I could definitely hear similarities for most of these that are beyond just the composers using the same instruments for different tracks.
I know this doesn't really count but it's very interesting that phase two of Metyr also has the humming that comes from turning cosmic radiation into sound waves (look it up, very cool).
Romina's theme and Rellana's second phase both remind me of Godskin Apostles theme. Similar instrumentation, similar bombastic choral second half, Rellana even has the same trumpet squeal.
I don't think the maiden astraea thing is intentional since the remake wasn't made or approved by fromsoftware, but an interesting leitmotif that I saw someone pointing out is the violin present in OG Flamelurker, Lady Maria and Twin Princes, which I think it's pretty neat great video btw
idk if this is a similarity or not but the theme for institute city (ac6) also has something similar to the leyndell/elphael/enir-ilim beginning, albeit much more sci-fi sounding, but not sure if its actually similar aounding or not lol
@@upsideproductions2 Surely Sennessax would have attacked Bayle if she was? He is missing his wing and a leg. She isn't. I think it's more likely that she joined his coup, imagining him stronger.

The leyndell-elphael-enir ilim musical continuity makes totally sense in a lore prospective: these are all cities of gods
teehee miquella is not and will never be a god

I couldn’t agree more, this is why I like analyzing music in video games, such an underrated but important part of the whole experience.
Romina and messmer are definitely intentionally related because Messmer burned Romina's home. It's in the story trailer

@@leoguado2 yes!! It’s all very intentional
The second half of Metyr's theme also features noises very similar to those recorded by NASA coming from a black hole

Elden Ring has the best soundtrack from any Fromsoft game and I'll die on this hill

This is such a great video, I knew everything in the first one, but this had so much new stuff!!!!
That plassidussax part blew me away

Don't know if it is me hearing things, but the stone coffin fissure has the same string instrument used in the shaman village and elden beast's ost.

Great vids! I don't have much else to say except that the clip at 2:16 cracked me up.

these are so cool, i never woulda have noticed anything past part 1. great vid :D

Maiden astrea theme is from og demon souls
Fantastic music! Thank you for similarities!
I dont think the similarities between Romina's and messmer's themes are a concidence
Isn't Messmer's crusade also Romina's reason for embracing the Scarlet Rot? So probably not a coincidence, yeah

idk anything about music, but Gravesite plain sounds a bit like Mountaintop of the Giants to me
is senessax bayle’s mate? i still don’t get why there’s a sleeping ancient dragon there
Pretty much all the ancient dragons hate bayle. I’m assuming sennesssax is hunting him down.
senessax probably betrayed placidusax and turned to bayles side (hefty red lightning pot description)

The first seconds of Romina theme are almost exactly like the start of Midir theme.
Could be obvious but it’s worth mentioning radagon and Messmer themes
