Just got one yesterday. Coming from a 400cc bike. Im using mode 3 and am blown away with the responsiveness and power.. can't imagine what mode 1 would be like! I'll admit, I'm not ready for it yet.
@Elgixxer2006 within 2 - 3 days I adapted and started using the power. Its insane 😅 Still working on my launch though.. its actually hard to take off super fast because the front wheel wants to come up.. but I'll get better haha
Mode 1’s throttle is too aggressive and touchy for me personally. I set mine to 2 since it still gives you full power. I’m not out here trying to do wheelies whenever I get on it lol
I got mine on Tuesday. Coming from a 400 myself this thing is a monster! Can’t wait to get out of the break in period. Mode 4 felt way too sluggish, mode 3 is where I enjoy the bike.
So I'm in the market for a 2023 MT09. I've been watching a lot of reviews. One thing that convinces me every person that reviews this motorcycle is giggling like a school girl just having a blast with this motor. Everyone from new riders to experienced motorcycle reviewer's. That alone is evidence of the fun in store with this motorcycle. I think I'm going to do it.
21 model owner here...I put 30k on mine so far freaking love it..Many don't know but D modes also alter engine breaking which works in opposite fashion 1 is most powerful engine breaking...As for lean sensitive ABS in menu or BC settings, 1 is less intrusive while breaking down hard with rear brake, don't engage much like on setting 2
Hi Josh great video I have just upgraded from MT07 to MT09 SP a month ago mine only has 11 miles on as the weather in UK has been crap......go on you should have tried D mode 1 then just start reducing the LIF control just to try ....you seem to have great roads in OZ for trying things out ,,,,and you seem to be a better rider than me , more experience, go on have some fun just make you have some brown trousers on first 😊😊
Haha definitely wear brown trousers when pushing this bike to its fullest 😅 Did the same (similar) here. Had a blast on the mt07 but wanted more. Ended up with the ‘22 XSR variant and holy crap it’s a riot! Keep mine in D mode 1 always just because I’m a bit nuts lol. Hope you get to ride more soon!!
Thanks for such a helpful video. Want to try something new to replace my 99 V-Star 1100 stripped and tuned . safety specs and upright position sounds like a perfect hybrid cuz I don't want to go full sport. Would be awesome to have the option for fun or an ez ride.
If you HOLD the up button when selecting TCS modes... if will display 'OFF'. Then you have zero aids, and then you feel the power full whack. The front flies up like no tomorrow! I ride in D2 with everything OFF for the most part. Find D2 has the most natural throttle response. But yeah, fun bike. Definitely give it a go with everything off. That's what a gen 1 and 2 MT09 feels like pretty much power wise.
@@_JoshJB_ Figured this was a better life choice. Good bike, but probably very easy to do something stupid which will end badly or license points.. enjoy the bike.
I always use mine in mode 2, mode 1 in town is really uncomfortable, mode 3 and 4 are really too slow...Now for wheelies(With clutch in second gear) mode 4 is interesting because it make the bike really easy to control...
this 1 mod , have an impact at your driving ? you know , 1 mod keep you on kind of train rails ?? ! Cause averybody said how playful is the Tracer 900 and Mt09 ,but when i ride it , i didnt find it playful at all . Now... this conclusion is falty cause the bike was set at mod 1 when i ride it ??????
I ride in all modes 1 and and turned off the slide control. Sad to say but the bike will loop easy, trust me we are still buying parts. Not sure if anyone else had same problem or not? As of now we have it on 2 everything and he scrapped licenses plate at 12 o'clock position so I'm sure everything on 2 will loop as well. It's a MT09 2021. Please be careful and ride safe y'all.
@kennethholley6330 my friend has same year as our bikes and I saw him loop right in front of me bad. Unfortunately I wasn't recording at the time because it looked really weird to me, like the bike didn't give him a chance to use the footbrake to bring it back down. It just shot straight up and did a 180 and whole bike landed on him. Don't know how but he managed to stay in riding position the whole time until it landed on him breaking 4 ribs and his back was black and blue from shoulders to his tailbone. It literally did a loop without touching license plate and tail light, pavement burned away the rear of the seat, broken foot peg and broke the windshield other than that it's good. He had no crash bars or sliders and that's the only thing happened to the bike.
hey man , just got mine!!! love the bike so far !!! could you share link to those mirrors youve got ? did you need to buy hardware for them? NVM found your previous MT videos about the mods!!! Cheers
nice man! i have a T7 and i think to sell it for mt09 cause i dont go off road like i used to.. the only thing that keeps me thinkin n thinkin is how mt09 rolls at country bad tarmac roads.. you know, like bumbs and holes here and there.. i mean with T7 i go full speed on tarmac roads and i dont worry for ''death'' traps , with mt09 im afraid that i'll go like chicken and very alarming on the road contition. So ,is mt09 sooo ''alarming'' or i made it a big thing without reason?? you are the first that have both so you know better... i live on country side in Greece and i dont have the luxury to test mt09.
My brains glazing over with all these abbreviations. Think I’ll stick with my Generation 1 with the Woolich tune and Qs. Think I’d do myself a nasty fiddling with all that crap. I’m a twist and go sorta dude tbh A-Std-B is all I need
The FULL experience in ride mode 1... shifts at like 6.5 - 7k... bike makes peak power at 10k my guy. But tbh the MT09s strength is the midrange, the pull that 900 CP3 triple and put down is immense at low revs. But yeah if you want the full fat experience ... rev her out dude.
I'm not sure if you're just a comment warrior but they changed peak torque from 10,000rpm to 7,000 rpm in gen 3 with the larger cc engine due to longer shaft length. Pls shhhhhhh 😅
Thanks for this tutorials. Btw, this must be the worst GUI ever. It's ugly, confusing and random at the same time. First of all it looks like exercise 1 from the Visual Studio manual. Second, without a manual you are lost what some of these abbreviations mean and if a higher number is safer or more hooligan setting. And finally, these settings should at least be placed on the same screen. Like in the case of Aprilia's GUI where you can see everything at the same time. I'm thinking about buying a 2024 MT09 and I really hope they completely resigned that during the bike 's update.
@@aressimbamt0959Where is the connection between GUI layout and bike's price? Current MT is still cheap and they were clearly able to redesign this mess.
At 2:38 when you were going over TCS, you have it backwards. 1 is the least invasive, not most. Just a friendly heads up

@floodtheinbox im not sure I understand the modes completely.. 😅 but now I use both modes on setting 2. Its definitely a little less tame. But fun.

Me too... even after the recent price increase its still the best value middleweight naked out there IMO. I'm going for the SP.
im here with you too , i already have it 1 month ago and its a wonderful machine
I find myself laughing a bit too. It just torquey very fun
Dude if you’re thinking about getting one it’s too late to turn back 😅 You have to do it! The shove and noise from the CP3 is intoxicating.

Honestly seems like a good beginner bike… put it in 4 to start out and get a feel and slowly work your way up to 1 as you feel comfortable.
I own this bike. I do not think its a good bike for a beginner.

*my self-preservation tells me the M10 may overzealous for my first sportier bike.
Youre wrong, mode 1 does the least assistance and mode 2 does more...
Moore mafia dyno proved that drive mode 1 and 2 are identical.

Looped my 2021 3 weeks ago, yes , she loops hard in certain settings. Had on certain modes and still looped bad. Badass mofo. Didn't do to much damage
