@@FishingwithMattUK I would recommend. You can a good one they really are a great exciting drive. Emerald greens are rare. There is only one chap normally at the meets in that colour 🏆
The problem with going on the forums is hearing all the problems. But obviously you don't hear from the people that run fine. If you mapping beyond 310 yes I would say forge the pistons. Piston 3 known to blow. VVT Solenoids a common issue. I take mine to WG Motorworks. Get full service and Gearbox oil change annually to make sure no sound when full lock or at slow speed. If you get one make sure the history is good. Thing is people rag these cars and change the standard spec then say they break easy. You wouldn't do that to a normal car.
@@vxrnice one mate I appreciate the info. Do you know how much the full service is down there? If I did buy one I would probably take it straight down there to be "inspected"
@@FishingwithMattUK Hey. You can do general health checks down there. 60 quid I think. If I remember correctly full Main service is 270. Warren does brake fluid and everything. Plus to be honest it is a one on one service. You can talk to him about what he sees. Not just throwing it in a garage, in and out like a conveyor belt. Additionally the gearbox oil complete change 70-80 but absolutely a must.
Finally picked mine up today, Astra J OPC in Arden blue with Aero pack. I came from an 1.3 non turbo car to this, It's hard to describe the feeling but whenever I get out of the car I shiver because of the sheer power and adrenaline. It's without a doubt a beast of a machine. Plus here where I'm from the car is rarely seen on the road, so I had so many eyes on me to the point where I just felt a bit uncomfortable but I guess it's something I need to get used to.
as a new owner of a j vxr i often wonder if im the only person that has the non aero pack styling i prefer the spoiler on mine weirdly it seems im the only one! :) also thanks for waking me up early morning driving past my house i heard everyone of them as i live on the main road towards santa pod! haha
I’m on the look out for one of these here in Australia anything to look out for when buying. Currently dailying a focus rs mk2 so I no what the fuel will be like 😆. Are these a harsh ride ? Cheers
Hey. I think they are Holden in Australia. When in VXR/OPC Mode the ride is stiff. When in normal mode they are fine. 38mpg motorway. 22mpg in town. 280bhp but can be stage 1 for 310bhp. Love them myself. Not been in an RS so could not compare personally.
@@vxr thanks mate yes Holden here. It will be a daily so I can put the RS Away that gets 10.5litres per a 100ks I think the vxr is worse but worth it if a fun daily car I think. They certainly look good
all the k owners like me with the top end 1.6! t...we wish they had made a k vxr. if they did ..i wouldn't own the 1.6t 😞 very disappointed in this engine.
Honestly amazing seeing so many of these gorgeous cars in one place at one time, thanks for the vids man.
@@sixstringedthing Thanks. Glad you enjoy. Hopefully many more videos to come. 👍👍

@@vxrhearing of all the engine problems is scary haha! I'd only want a standard one but would want one with heated seats etc not a bad spec car!

We do have a member of the Club that has no Aero Pack. Spoiler and Side Skirts. You must love being near that main road.

@@andrewwright. It is a shame that the VXR brand was not continued. It is a nightmare trying to get hold of parts for a J VXR also now days.
