Some of the owners really make it their own in some of the different colours. I also love Arden Blue. If I got a Corda D VXR ever as a second car. Definately Arden Blue 👍🏆

@@vxr Any good sources for service procedures/advice mate? I am trying to do as much work on the car myself as possible because they're so rare in Aus, but finding a VXR service manual/part number catalogue etc. seems like a fair old challenge.

@@sixstringedthing Are you part of the Facebook Forums. Astra J GTC VXR forums or our Club page one? All the members and owners have answers to questions relating to issues and mods that they have come across. Part numbers. Code reader error codes etc. My Beast goes to WG Motorworks for servicing usually also. Think someone was selling a manual the other day

@@sixstringedthing Definately should. So much info on maps, parts. Issues. Gear box oils and engine oils to use. Where to get cheapest parts. People breaking vxrs so can obtain hard to get parts from them and so on

Hey Brett. The Club I am with is for GTC vxrs. There are plenty of different clubs around which involve lots of Vauxhalls espescially on the Facebook Forums which attend shows throughout the year 👍🏆

@@FishingwithMattUK I would recommend. You can a good one they really are a great exciting drive. Emerald greens are rare. There is only one chap normally at the meets in that colour 🏆

@@vxrhearing of all the engine problems is scary haha! I'd only want a standard one but would want one with heated seats etc not a bad spec car!

The problem with going on the forums is hearing all the problems. But obviously you don't hear from the people that run fine. If you mapping beyond 310 yes I would say forge the pistons. Piston 3 known to blow. VVT Solenoids a common issue. I take mine to WG Motorworks. Get full service and Gearbox oil change annually to make sure no sound when full lock or at slow speed. If you get one make sure the history is good. Thing is people rag these cars and change the standard spec then say they break easy. You wouldn't do that to a normal car.

@@vxrnice one mate I appreciate the info. Do you know how much the full service is down there? If I did buy one I would probably take it straight down there to be "inspected"

@@FishingwithMattUK Hey. You can do general health checks down there. 60 quid I think. If I remember correctly full Main service is 270. Warren does brake fluid and everything. Plus to be honest it is a one on one service. You can talk to him about what he sees. Not just throwing it in a garage, in and out like a conveyor belt. Additionally the gearbox oil complete change 70-80 but absolutely a must.

@@sixstringedthing Hey firstly the noise from the diff you just need to change the Gearbox oil. Very common in these. I get it changed annually every service. Eliminates this completely. There is couple of forums on facebooks. Astra j vxr owners. Loads of members on there that have a ton of knowledge of different aspects of the Car. 👍👍

@@Astragtc1770 They are expensive with the maintenance but you could probably pick one up at a decent price at the moment.

@@andrewwright. It is a shame that the VXR brand was not continued. It is a nightmare trying to get hold of parts for a J VXR also now days.

The Wheels are Perfect for the VXR. Not many other alloys suit or make it look better than it already does. I am currently saving mine and refurbishing the Diamond Cut one at a time. 💎

​@@vxr​ @vxr Nice one mate, agree that they're definitely worth saving/restoring. Mine has some minor kerb rash which was on it when I bought it late last year, need to look into getting them tidied up. I've looked at aftermarket, there aren't many makes/designs available here that fit and suit the car and the better ones are all ludicrously expensive! Thanks for the video, subbed. @@sixstringedthing Hopefully will get to go to a few shows this year. Definately worth refurbishing the alloys if you still have diamond cut. They hard to come by. Also most people that have to sell and have changed to other alloys try to get hold of the originals again. The refurb I had recently makes such a difference. One of a kind car 💯
