We stayed at BP Tulum, but we got a good sense of it while we were touring - it’s a great resort for the money… good food, pools, service, entertainment 👍🏻 the only drawback is the proximity to the beach, but they do have a nice little snack bar in the Coba beach section.
My boyfriend and I went to Bahia Principe in 2002, 2003, and 2009. It was before the storm, so the resort looked very different. We stayed in the "middle part" of the resort. To the left was the "upgrade" resort, to the right, it was more children, and we noticed the difference in the "sand." More rocks, less "white beautiful sand." We always got up early, went down to beach and saved "2" beach chairs and canopies. Then to the breakfast buffet (to the right) as opposed to the large buffet. We went to the large buffet for lunch and dinner. We reserved a couple of the specialty restaurants on the 1st day, when we arrived. After the 1st year we went, the large blue towels for the beach were in the rooms. However, the following years, you needed a card to go to a kiosk to receive your towels, (which was a pain, long walks) The 1st and 2nd year, (we had Apple Vacation) there were large comfortable buses that stopped along each resort and dropped off their guests. We, were the last stop. Very long ride. We were exhausted. The 3rd time, the buses were no more, they used small vans, which were very uncomfortable. I'm only 5' and couldn't sit with my boyfriend so I had to sit in front seat, and my knees were hitting the dashboard! Were we were, no children, "topless were allowed" and really no big deal! The rooms were great, we lucked out, and got the 3rd floor each time. Alot of large lizards. Since we were guests that returned, the front desk sent us to the VIP section, which sent us to the left, ( which we didn't want) so we asked to go to the other part of the resort. It took 4 hrs and I had an enormous migraine! Anyway, I noticed how different Bahia Principe is now. The storm (years ago) changed it, completely. The food was very good! Entertainment very good also. The water clear, warm plenty of beautiful small fish, swimming around our legs. There were kayaks (we, didn't use) The airport was horrible, each time! My 1st time, I was pulled out of line and my bag torn apart! Very embarrassing! 2nd and 3rd trip, no searches. But, no improvement in the airport. I am now 68, my boyfriend 81 and I'm disabled needing a walker, so unfortunately, my travel days are over. May still in near future, a cruise. Anyway, thank you, for the vlog, shows how much, it has changed. But they also added a few things that caught my eye, "The Coffee Bar!"
Thank you for the video. We will be travelling to grand coba this week! Curious if you had any experience on the staff’s handling of allergens. Have read mixed reviews online, but need to accommodate a serious nut allergy. Thanks again!
Sorry, we’re not sure how they deal with but allergies 🤷🏼♀️ they do ask you when you get seated at the restaurants if you have any allergies. Maybe you can ask to speak to a manager to make sure everything is safe.
Hey man love your vids! Was wondering what would be better between This coba, iberostar tucan, paraiso, barcelo maya palace/ beach (which for some reason are the same price). What do you recommend?
Thanks for watching! We haven’t been to iberostar. From the other resorts you mentioned, we would recommend either the Coba or the Barcelona Maya Beach. Coba is great- great food, entertainment, amenities, pools- but it’s far from the beach. The Barcelo Maya Beach is also great- it’s part of a large complex that has a lot to offer, has good food and rooms, and is right on the beach. It depends what you’re after in a vacation 🤷🏼♀️
Doesn't look like they have much vegetarian options for dinner as the vegetarian corner was small but i did see vegetarian mixed in with the meat, if you can let me know if there was a lot of vegetarian options that didn't contain any meat , eggs, chicken, etc. Do the other restaurants in this resort have more vegetarian options mentioned above and are they difficult to book a reservation.also would they be able to make vegetarian fajita, enchiladas, buritto, quasedella and veg nachos if we were to mention this?. I have sent you another reply message if you could please reply when you have time. Thanks
We have shown all the food options at the buffets - but apart from that, you can ask your waiter to customize a vegetarian meal for you. Yes the other restaurants have vegetarian options as well. It’s not hard to book the restaurants, it just depends on availability.
NO, its pretty much the same thing and will have a change of a few main dishes each day for dinner. I heard it was used to be alot better I know for a fact the are scrimping and even the way they hide inforation you would think you are in Cuba with low resources. I cant believe I choose this place compared to Principe Tulum...all because of the stupid people in the comments section of some places No the food at coba is hit and miss. I went a couple of months after this video was made and you are left with crumbs if you are not there early ...meaning 9 AM for breakfast. i guess he;s getting the video before the animals are let loose to theses feeding areas. It wasn't as good as this...dont know if it was because it was low season, but it was degraded, a level above Cuba on some days After the 3rd day there , I guess more busses came in and there were hordes of people at breakfast time, and dinner. Beautiful grounds nad nice building , But I dont think I would go back due to the food and too many kids and teenagers
Hi, Are credit cards accepted if we go to a shopping mall or nearby shops that sell everything for payments. How much do taxis and buses charge and do they accept credit cards?.
Yes the big shops take credit cards. Not sure of the cost to take a taxi 🤷🏼♀️ depends where you’re going.. You have to request a taxi that accepts credit cards, because most of them don’t.
DEAR WHERE WE GOING NEXT? HAPPY NEW YEAR. GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIENDS. I AM VERY PROUD OF YOU AND VERY HAPPY FOR YOU. I HOPE ALL OF YOUR DREAMS COME TRUE. I HOPE YOU HAD THE BEST AND HAPPIEST CHRISTMAS OF YOUR ENTIRE LIFE. I LOVE YOU. I LOVE MR. ESPARZA AND ALL OF MY BEAUTIFUL FRIENDS. 🙏 SINCERELY PETER
Hi, Does this resort have a free shuttle bus that takes you to nearby shops that sell clothes, food items?. Where would be the best place for shopping to go to that would sell the above?. How would we travel there if anyone can suggest.
@@WherewegoingNext I guess playa del carmen is the place to find the above at decent prices and where do i tell the taxi or bus to take us i mean is there a name of the shopping mall or shops. Will the bus , taxi, and shops accept credit card to pay.
You can ask them to take you to 5th avenue, which has the most shops. Yes, the big stores will take credit cards but bring USD cash for some of the small vendors.
What options do they have for lunch and if I came to this resort on Wednesday and stayed until next Wednesday how many times can I go to a la carte restaurants?
They have a lunch buffet very similar to the dinner buffet in this video, plus snack bars by the beach - check out our hotel tour to see some of the snack bars 👍🏻 if you stay 1 week, you get 3 ala carte reservations 👍🏻
@Where we going Next? I'm considering this resort and bahia principe grand tulum to vist with my wife and 4 year old. The price would cost me 363 extra to stay at grand tulum but trying figure out if its worth it to pay the extra price to stay there or if I should stay at coba? I've been to one all inclusive resort grand palladium costa mujeres like year and half ago and the price was alot cheaper to vist that resort then the price now because it was during covid but it was really nice resort
The Coba and Tulum are very similar in terms of amenities and food - the main difference is that Tulum is right on the beach, whereas Coba is not.. plus Tulum is newly renovated so the rooms are much nicer. Both hotels have lots of activities and splash pads for the kids 👍🏻
@Where we going Next? the beach not being as close isn't a big deal for me I just wanted make sure activities and food was similar so if that's the case I'm good with Cabo. The rooms are for sure nicer looking at tulm but aren't some of the rooms ay tulm not renovated?
I have heard that it's not safe to go out of the resort even to any shopping malls, shops or even take a bus or taxi to the above. Please share your experiences.
We just took a taxi into downtown Cancun today to a shopping mall and felt 100% safe. There was lots of security around as well. You can use your discretion, but we haven’t had any issues before.
That is NOT "canadian bacon"! "Canadian bacon is just normal bacon! We also have "back bacon" though which apparently is not very common in the US but thats different, its more like just a pork loin breaded in cornmeal
Well honestly I find his video very useful and informative since I'll be going there in April 2024. I like that he takes the time to tell what the dishes are since it's not always clear on camera.
oe of the better buffet videos ive seen. you explain whats on offer without any bs. great job dude
Thank you! 🙏🏻

Can you please do a buffet tour of Sian Ka'an? Thank you!
Coming out soon… stay tuned!
I just came back from Sian Ka'an Terrible, go to Coba more food choice and better chef at Coba.
Food is excellent here. I honestly saw no nuts in 2017. We’re going back March 2024 it will be interesting!

We didn’t notice any 🤷🏼♀️ maybe in the back?
For breakfast, does the selection change on some days?
Some of the veggie dishes and fruits change, but it’s pretty similar day to day

Yes, their website states that you can eat at the ala carte restaurants at Tulum, although it doesn’t specifically name that one 🤔

Hi, if you stay at bahia principe grand tulum, can you go to coba buffet? Please
You can visit and spend the day at Coba, but they won’t let you use the dinner buffet.
Are the lacarte restaurants only for dinner and can anyone suggest which tourist attractions there are for children aged 4. Thanks.
Yes the ala cartes are just for dinner. Xcaret is a fun water park for families 👍🏻

Does this resort have a free shuttle bus that takes you to nearby shops that sell clothes, food items?. Where would be the best place for shopping to go to that would sell the above?. How would we travel there if anyone can suggest.

You could when we visited in October last year.. but now they have changed the smoking laws so I believe they have smoking areas.
