I really like the NICT commentaries. Since they're only "semi-technical", those of us who don't know Greek can get much benefit from them. Definitely one of my favorite series so far.
Thank you so much. Great coverage. Dr. Witherington told me he has no plans to update and revise his commentary on Acts so I would cautiously assume that this would be true of this volume as well.
What a shame.... but bless him he has a full workload as it is! Maybe the publishres will engage one of his students to revise his work - seems to be a current idea that is out there
Thanks, Pastor! Really interesting to hear the different commentators on the one verse. What made you choose that verse in particular? Very helpful video thank you!
I love Murphy-O’Connor on 2 Corinthians too! Because the Greek of 2 Corinthians is some of the most difficult in the NT, you really need a large commentary like Harris. An excellent small commentary is James W. Thompson, Preaching Second Corinthians. He says this on 3:7-11: “Despite the appearances of Paul’s ministry, with its pain and suffering, it is the ministry of the spirit that is more glorious than that of Moses. Although Paul has no shining face as a sign of glory, he recognizes the paradoxical glory of his ministry of weakness.”
I love finding some of these commentaries at my local used book stores. The thing that always bothers me though is when they have tons of highlighting and writing in them. Unless it's dirt cheap (or extremely rare) I just can't bring myself to buy a used book like that.
Despite having a shelf full of BECNT, I do not have 2 Corinthians and so didn't feel able to comment. As a rule they offer a fabulous consistency, but if I don't have access I hold my peace. Bless you
I am sorry, but I am not aware of any. There are websites that will offer a student discount but in general it is hard to get up to date works for free. Bless you!
Hi Stephen, Based on your review I have ordered and just received my copy of David Garland's new CSC commentary. Looks good. Thanks, Steve
Although I consult many other authors, Keener is always my FIRST go-to scholar. He is truly a blessing to biblical scholarship.
Can't disagree - he is a great asset! Bless you!

Absolutely agree!

Thank you for your continued support! Blessings!
Well done Stephen
Bless you Bill! See you soon!
My top 3 are Seifrid, Garland and Harris. Continue the great work. Steve
Bless you mate! Always glad of your comments!

Thank you too! There would be no channel without people to listen in, so I appreciate it!

I looked through a few verses and the responses and settled on it becasue I thought there was enough variation...

I am the same....until they are £10 but a new one is £70...then i can put up with the highlighting
Thanks, Pastor! What do you think about the BECNT series on this? Personally, I find the WBC series by Martin to be very good.
