I´m watching this from overseas. Did the maoris say that the racing was not allowed to start before they do a song and a chant and a little dance to bless the track and scare away the bad ghosts?
That's mostly for special occasions and events. Given the amount of racing we have in summer we would need a dedicated team of them running around frantically every weekend
Oh, I understand. It only happens if there is a death. I saw on the New Zealand news that after Matu Tangi Matua Reid killed two work colleagues with a shotgun in the central business district of Auckland in July 2023 the maoris did a song and a chant and a little dance to bless the building site and scare away the bad ghosts so that workers could then carry on working safely. But there was a fatal accident on your state highway 1 and the maoris didn´t do their song and a chant and a little dance to bless the accident site and scare away the bad ghosts so that people can drive over it safely. And maoris themselves drive over the spot now not even knowing or caring that exactly on that spot a person died. So do the maoris only do their song and a chant and a little dance to bless and scare away the bad ghosts when they get media coverage?@@cotterillmotorsport4087
More great content Andy.....awesome in car footage as well.
Amazing how many people have drag cars at home.
Yeah lots of people like to race actually. New Zealand has so many of them, not just drag racers...
Good video man. Cheers
Thanks for watching!
Great footage, good work 👍.
Thanks a lot and glad to see you enjoyed it!

No that only happens if there is a death
@@cotterillmotorsport4087 really? I didn't know that. If that's the case then I retract my previous comment and just admit I wasn't aware of it.
Or anything they can get paid for

Most certainly an unwelcome Father's Day 'present'. Thankfully he is okay. Many weren't so fortunate in my day.
The definition of best case scenario for him. We were very relieved to see him come out without a single scratch!
Check out the track crew when the crash happens, got to ❤ it.
Glad to see someone noticing it. Their prompt response was key to fire suppression and a positive outcome for the driver. Great story!
Yeah mate no racing if there's no volunteers ( track crew ) 👍.
@@cotterillmotorsport4087 agreed! Has it ever happened tho? Maybe club days or private events?
Na I don't think so not without some form of volunteer.
Unbelievable they were running to their response vehicles before the main hit happened
The first red car looked like a holden vr vn
Oops
It happens even to the most seasoned drivers
