    As an Argentinian is so strange to hear People talking about our writers in english. Thanks for reviewing Cortazar, Borges and Sabatto. You should try with Bioy Casares "Morel 's invention", he inspired the "Lost"(tv show) script writers. Adolfo Bioy Casares was also Jorge Luis Borges Best friend and they even wrote some books together. I hope you can read it. the Best and thanks.

    "Sobre Heroes y Tumbas" is great also.

  • @OlegarioCura

    Man, if you think The Tunnel was great, wait for On Heroes and Tombs. I think Sabato is easily the best latinamerican novelist.

    • @OlegarioCura

      Leo Percara So who you think it is?

    • @SiddharthaCC
      @SiddharthaCC 7 лет назад +3

      Leo Percara He is certainly better than Onetti and Bolaño (both of whom I read and enjoyed, and regard as excellent authors). I can say for the rest, but Rulfo is God anyway so you can't really compare him with anyone else. Abaddon el exterminador is one of the best novels written by a Latinamerican author. That novel alone puts Sabato among the greats.

    • @MrElicottero
      @MrElicottero 7 лет назад +1

      Sabato is good, but he's not even in the top 10 of Latin American writers for me. Alejo Carpentier would probably be my favorite. Or Jose Lezama Lima.

    I just finished reading this and i am absolutely mind blown. It's apparently his very first novel and is followed by two others like a trilogy. Cant wait to get to them. Nice review!

    You HAVE to read On tombs and graves now (in my opinion, Sabato's best work). Both stories happen in the same universe and On tombs and graves briefly references the first one. It's only for a paragraph I think, but it will change your perception of The tunnel completely

    Amazing man! There are so many latin american masterpieces. Read "Sobre heroes and tumbas" It is the same style but it reminds me of Bolaño. I also recommend "Bestiario" by Cortazar and "The last evenings on earth" by Bolaño, but you have probably read it because you created a short film based on his short story. These books provide dreamlike and surreal feelings. These books steal your conscience.

    i would love to see you do a review of an uruguayan author called Juan Carlos Onetti, he is a very underrated author but his writing is very interesting, I recommend "The Pit" a short novel, very existencialist and also "A Brief Life", i think that you would enjoy either one of those books. I really like your content and the books you review.

    Anarchist to be exact. Sabato is more anti communist according to the ideas articulated in ABADDON THE EXTERMINATOR. Which is the best example of the ideological conflict between anarchism and communism.
