Sup Jimmy. Have to check them out. Not buying a lot so want it to count lol. Best thing with micro is catch anything, fun when sitting on bank. Happy just getting out and catch fish. Got some bass all count. Ty tc
@@rawrfishing true. We have very few ponds or lakes can use Ned rig because of crap on bottom lol, but I think some of these baits and lures might work better, with the muck at bottom need a lighter smaller rig? Think the heavier weights might be big problem? Ty
With the roro bearings upgrade, it's been pretty good. The brake is still strong, but it's good not to backlash 😂 I think I would! BFE may have a labor day sale!
I don't hear those ceramic bearings anymore...did you switch to the Roro ones? I'm loving mines out the box throwing 8th and above for bass on the 691C...deadly. 🎣😁👍🏾 Fi$h-N-Game 4LIFE!!!
No I am not on the kayak. I wear my gopro over my PFD. So it sits closer to the reel when I cast and reel. But since I am on foot.. The gopro is further away 😃
Jika Rig is one of my fav to fish any bottom lures that floats. The Tokyo rig is a versatile rig that can do power shot rigging and Jika Rig. But it's wrong to say a Jika Rig is like a Tokyo rig as a Jika Rig can't do what Tokyo rig do! :P I ususally cut my Tokyo rig wire short so I make a Jika Rig as power shot rig is only good for close range or vertical fishing. Give it a shot!
longer shaft is power shot rig. or basically drop shot with a short line. it's effective for short range fishing. when u cast too far, it doesn't do squat due to the angle. But for close range, it can be lifted off the bottom, making it more visible. Jika rig is strictly bottom rig, and can be used further away or even close. With that said, i always use jika over power shot as im lazy! lol
Dink pond is an appropriate name for it 😂. I'm sure we have a fair share of those near our homes. The desperation of hooking a fish makes this my fav pond to go to close to home 😂
@@rawrfishing Yeah, we have a lot of them in South Florida too. Lots of bass, never get over 1.5 lbs. Guess its a combo of water debth (shallow) amount of food and amount of actual fish (lots of competition) that keeps the size small. We need a biologist to explain further.
No you are right. Many fish growth gets impacted by how deep water can get. A great example are carps. Even a gold fish can be a giant if the water is deep enough. Some fish gets impacted stronger than others of course.
Out of the box... Kestrel wins for lower weight lures. But quality overall is the slx. I would personally get the slx and nab an aftermarket spool if I wanna go lighter than what the stock slx/curado can do.
U can definitely try. But micro bearing upgrade isn't much difference since the stock bearings are pretty small in the first place. You will see a significant upgrade with the new spool for lighter lures.
how does the kestrel feel after a bit of casting and reeling? I have the slx bfs and might want to expand on different reels, what would you recommend as a high end reel?
I already upgraded it with bearings. It's a must. It's so much better now. The better bearings are the roro micro bearings. High end reel? Aldebaran BFS, Daiwa Gekkabijin, but you can still do more with the slx like spool swapping
Bro, i just ordered some #2 ewg hooks and some micro trds. I knew i was wanting this style of weight, your video was helpful.
nice! this setup is the bomb dot com!
Excellent video - Thank you!
Glad you liked it!

Ned rigging in general is a banger. If anything, this would be the best out of their newest release of the finesse size baits.

Yep go light and not have your lures dig into the muck
@@rawrfishing yes definitely brother.
Zmans new micro baits are the shhhh they all look pretty bad ass🙌🏾
Well.. Other than this and the tube.. The other 3 breaks. So not so durable
I got a 3 pound drum on the pink LarvaZ today. That was fun on a creek pole!
Definitely need to try that bait, that kestrel is looking good. Would you recommend the reel ?

I am going to give it a try on my BFS. Thanks
It's fun
Cool lures Jimbo... 🤗
It's a fun way to slay
cool rig. Kinda looks like a Tokyo rig. I've never seen those weights before. Pretty cool!

@@rawrfishing What's the main difference between the two? Shorter wire 'shaft' and is the Jika meant more for finesse applications?

Good Job I like it.
Thx! Great way to finesse fish em

When you have more responsibilities you tend to appreciate the little things more. Like dink ponds and floating micro turds
As far as I could remember... I enjoyed catching fish even if they were small.
Ned life!
Ned is the best
Hey man which is the best sized hook for a 2 or 3 inch plastic on the jika rig set up
1 to 1/0 for most baits. Sometimes 2 depending how much actual the rigging real-estate on the plastic
Thanks for the response bro. Keep the line wet🎣
So in your honest opinion , should I go with a shimano SLX bfs or a kastking kestrel?
Out of the box... Kestrel wins for lower weight lures. But quality overall is the slx. I would personally get the slx and nab an aftermarket spool if I wanna go lighter than what the stock slx/curado can do.
@@rawrfishing so far all I’ve done to the SLX is roro bearing upgrade. Should I try removing a magnet as well? I’m going to wait on the spool.

How well does that hook set with an ultralight rod?
That's a Light rod. With a ultra fast tip. Hook sets are easy.

What lb test did you use?
0.6 gou Varivas 4 PE is about 10 lbs. 7 lbs Varivas Absolute MG FC line
