    3,5 year rider Dice 6,8 10 and 12m. Vegas 10,12 and 13m. If conditions are right I prefer to fly the Vegas. :) Tried the 2020 Dice and I'd like to replace my 2017/18 Dice kites! There's a noticeable difference. The 2020 Dice feels a lot like the Vegas on six lines. The 2020 Dice is something everyone should experience!
    Relaunching the Vegas is really easy. Just pull the opposing front line and the kite stands up easily. Due to the shape of the Vegas a fifth line relaunch can only happen in really light wind. There's just too much tension on the fifth line in the upper 2/3 of the wind range.
    When relaunching he Dice tends to shoot up half way before the edge of the window. No biggee but you need to be ready for it. With finesse you can keep it down until it reaches the edge of the window.
    Extremely happy with the Dice and Vegas!

      My kite relaunches so vigorously it feels like the entire canvas will rip open every time. not sure how to improve my relaunches to put less stress on the kite

      @@leroythegreat which kite? Dice or Vegas? I'll bet it's the Dice. :) It has a tendency to shoot forward when relaunching. This trait is a tradeoff for the performance and experience/feel of the kite. A little hassle relaunching is definitely worth the performance of the kite. You're not going to hurt the kite. In stronger winds you need to be ready for the kite to get airborne before it reaches the edge of the window.
      The connection to the kite, intuitive feel and instant response makes the Dice such a fun kite.
      Unfortunately you've really got to finesse it but it's possible to get a Dice to the edge of the window for a more "normal" relaunch.

    Proly simular if you compare Airush Union with the Razor, im guessing.

      The Duotone Vegas and Dice are both great kites, but they do have some differences in terms of their design, performance, and intended use. The Vegas is a more focused kite for advanced freestyle and unhooked riding, while the Dice is a more versatile kite that is suitable for a wide range of riding styles and conditions. The Vegas has a more C-shaped profile and a lower aspect ratio, which makes it very responsive and powerful for tricks and jumps. The Dice, on the other hand, has a more rounded profile and a higher aspect ratio, which makes it more stable and forgiving in gusty winds and less predictable conditions.
      In comparison, the Airush Union and Razor are also different kites with distinct design and performance characteristics. The Union is a versatile kite that is suitable for freeride, freestyle, and wave riding, while the Razor is a high-performance kite that is designed specifically for advanced freestyle and competition-level riding. The Union has a more delta shape and a higher aspect ratio, which gives it a more efficient and powerful performance, while the Razor has a more C-shape and a lower aspect ratio, which makes it very responsive and explosive for tricks and jumps.
      Overall, both the Vegas and Razor are geared towards advanced riders who are looking for high-performance and specialized kites for specific riding styles, while the Dice and Union are more versatile and forgiving kites that are suitable for a wider range of riders and conditions. It's important to choose the kite that suits your individual needs and preferences, based on your skill level, riding style, and local wind and water conditions. Good winds! -Aaron

    Speaking of freestyle, what about the TS Hadlow and the TS Textreme? I am 180cm tall and my weight is 74kg. I am wondering between the 138 or 140. Any advice?
    P.S. Is there any difference in the flex of the boards? :)

      mcz I can for sure do that. I think I’ve done most crossover kites vs each other now except the dash. I’ll try to get on our demo soon. - Rygo

    great content. I started hooked freestyle on the Dice then started unhooked on the Vegas it simply felt much easier for me to learn basic unhooked tricks especially when the wind is perfect. But been riding unhooked now a lot in gusty or changing wind conditions and that‘s when the Vegas gets difficult. Now switching to the RPM as it slacks very easy and is excellent when it’s gusty. And more fun when hooked in. Dice I don‘t like so much for unhooked find it difficult to get enough slack. The 11 Dice will stay my kite for light wind hooked and unhooked due to easy 5th line relaunch. Vegas in light wind makes no sense.

    The vegas might be more direct but I think the dice is the faster kite, isn't it?

    • @Jimmy1971240z
      @Jimmy1971240z 4 года назад

      The Dice finishes the last 1/3 of a loop faster than you'd expect. The Dice can be looped tighter/more pivotal than a Vegas. In terms of the kite rising to catch you during a kiteloop the Vegas is better IMO. The 2020 Dice is pretty sweet though!
      The Vegas is about 20% faster than the Dice and power development is more explosive. When powered, your speed on the water is noticeably faster on the Vegas. I'd say 20-30% faster.
      Hope this answered your question!

    So I'm riding a 2020 Dice 8, 10 & 13. Absolutely loving the Dice doing big air, freestyle and waves (on soft setting the drift is surprisingly good for an alround kite just amazing!). However I'm thinking of change the 13 Dice to a 13 Vegas instead.
    When I'm on the 13 there's not enough wind for big air and wave riding so I'm only doing freestyle. My thinking is why not use a pure freestyle kite for the 13m if I'm only doing freestyle with it and focusing on unhooked tricks?

    5th line lunching only matters in lower wind. If u have power for riding upwind and you crash your kite, just sheet the bar IN (not out like any other 4 line kite) and hold one steering line. the kite will pivot back on the wing tip and u can lunch it from power zone.
    I love vegas and for freestyle the kite is perfect. I used razor and it was tooooo hardcore and stif, just riding this kite was tiring. I used liquid force hi fi x, and it was much more stable in lower wind, no backstall what so ever but i saw many rider not able to relunch it becase of the kite collapsing in water. The LE was so thin pumping it as hard as possible wasn’t enough to keep the shape after crash.
    Vegas is just the perfect compromise between razor and hifix.
    My ideal quiver would be 13, 11 vegas and 9 dice. For boosting and kiteloop the vegas is to scary and unforgiving. Also the dice performs pretty good when it comes to wave riding.

    Been riding hybrid kites for long time and last year I changed all my kites to Vegas, to me is the most stable and reliable C kite in the market PLUS brings so much power hooked and unhooked that is just amazing ... if you are thinking between Dice and Vegas I would go Vegas without any question

      Its tough because the shop doesn't carry demos of either model. I have been trying out both of those kites via friends as of late. I don't think I could give an accurate comparison as of yet. I do find that I'm a huge fan of the Torch and Airush Razor though. I'll see if I can get my hands on the Vegas when the opportunity comes up. - Rygo

    I am confused if Duotone team riders are using Dice or Neo for strapless freestyle. Neos seem to lack the hooked in pop for air tricks but not sure if it's me.

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  4 года назад +1

      Youn Tune The Dice has more pop and slack by default. The Neo is powerful and drifts stupidity well. I’d base the choice off your side discipline. If you want more waves for sure Neo. If you want freestyle do the Dice. For strapless both work. You’ll just have to adapt to each kites unique feel. Neo is more stable, Dice more exciting. If you go fast enough on any kite you can get good pop and even slack. It’s all technique. Hope that helps - Rygo

    Hi Rygo im a more unhooked rider and hooked freestyler and i am in the process of getting myself an RRD obsession 12m but i have some worries, i have just recently gone into freestyle and consider myself as an intermidiate rider, do you think a pure freestyle kite is for me,? but yet it is what i want to do but the kite is more for advanced riders.

    • @MACkiteboarding
      @MACkiteboarding  3 года назад

      Opps, I missed this a year ago. Sorry Ethan. It;s on the rider to decide if it's time. C kites do make unhooked easier for sure while making hooked in a bit more challenging. If you mean freestyle like the crossover kites, well those are for all levels. Great beginner kites that are good for most disciplines. I've used the RPM extensively and I do enjoy it for all disciplines. Its a little lacking in the waves but I now have some wave kites.( Airush Sessions) My take is if you can ride upwind easily in all conditions and are working on The Rally to blind or wrapped, you're on a level where you could use any freestyle kite and excel. - Rygo

    if you are not sure its simple, 110% go for DICE ! after years on perfect Dice (3yrs+) you will know if you need to buy vegas. btw even beginners after 1week on water can ride Dice. beginners can ride even vegas, but its about easier and faster progress on tricks with Dice for you. I am instructor. 5hrs a day in water 3 months a year ...
