so the only dowside on the rebel is the speed/response. But how is it on the small sizes like 6 or 7qm which are normally pretty fast? Still not fast enough?
AscendedBeing87 it mainly depends on if you want to loop the kite. I’m sure it could be done on a small rebel, but I’d be pretty frightened to attempt a megaloop with a rebel. On the other hand, the loop on a rebel is quite nice for hovering tricks, like the dark slide or Jesus walk.
Loops can indeed be done n the rebel, it is more to do with the radius of the turn. The Rebel tends the 'pivot' through the turn and deliver power on the straights. Where as the Dice/Vegas have a much more rounded turn and deliver power throughout the turn. These characteristic effect a lot when you are riding, especially in timing and effect
@@tomcourtkite With a C kite, the projected surface is much smaller than a Delta Hybrid kite. I have a Rebel but want to get a Torch or Vegas. I have a 10m Rebel and want to know what size I have to choose for a torch to have about the same performance? Thanks
The evo SLS has a larger wind range than the standard version. Lighter materials increase the low end performance, but the characteristics are similar. 🤟🤟
Do the 2021 updates change the analysis? After flying them, the 2021 Rebels seem to turn and send and loop much much faster than the older 2020 or 2019. Like much much faster. (I guess the more flexible tips are making the difference, and the thinner leading edge and thinner bridle lines) So if you can make the Rebel more responsive AND you still get the maximum height... then surely... perhaps the Dice is now ever more responsive than before, so the Rebel is still behind in that category?
Actually more than agree ! You nailed it , perfect bar chart ...! What I dislike on dice is lower upwind ability to ride in comparison with pure Freeride kites . But Freeride kites sucks in kite loops , here with dice you can still kite loop , unhook , old school , medium bar pressure , just low wind and upwind sucks a bit ... Honest review !!!
Axe Capital yes that is why there are different kite models, very hard to make a kite super efficient up wind, yet useable in all conditions as efficiency comes with instability across many attributes. Up wind has also a lot to do with your board setup.... enter the foil!!
What a great explanation in few minutes. Thanks a lot for sharing
Cheers man!! Bigup
Cool video ! I stay with Rebel!
🙏🙏
Thanks Lasse and Tom
🤟👍
Are the characteristics still the same for the 2023 collection considering the SLS models that exist now? EVO SLS, Dice SLS, Rebel SLS...
Please do another video like this but with the 2023 sls versions it’s such great info
Ok will do!!!
Very nice breakdown!
hope it helped!!

@@benkitesurfs yes the rebel is much better for typical 'lift' or float! The turns are too pivotal to generate power
@@tomcourtkite so for big jumping AND megalooping youd go dice? or could it be done on rebel as well
Hippiehunt3r yes mate, I personally go dice every time!!
Is the Naish Torch more like the Dice or more like the Veags
More like the Vegas

Hi what about the EVO SLS? is it between Dice and EVO? more responsive than the normal EVO? and better looping?

I will look into doing an updated version of this for the 2021 models!!
Tengo una Rebel 2021 12m, la noto un poco lenta, crees que es posible aprender a hacer kiteloop en ella?
