👋Hi Stuart, I love what has come out of the "mess", very beautiful 😉 I also love your painting technique, small talk etc and find there is nothing about your videos that I don't like. The one thing I love as much as painting videos when I don't have time to paint myself is reading, and that's the reason why I ordered your book. I'm quite sure I'll love it as well and I'm going to tell you. That's a lot of "I", I know, but it all comes down to having a very good time when watching you do your paintings. Looking forward to the part 2 of this, thank you and have a pleasant week. ❤

I get lost in what I am doing, Im not that good yet learning techniques for myself but watching you you make it less complicated. I hope I can become at least a 10th of good to what you do. Thank you for sharing your gift to all and I do hope you are feeling a bit better with your back pain.

You just made my day. I've been trying to figure out how to make the colour you've made with sap green and red ochre. It's the colour of most vegetation in Australia, lighter and darker versions of this. I also really like the idea of making a mess and seeing what it looks like and turning it onto something too. I can't render anything that actually looks like the photo I'm using as reference and this is generally what ends up happening. It generally starts looking like something else so I turn it into that something else..and then someone asks "where is this?" Well actually, it's nowhere. It just evolved as I worked.

Just love it. Stuart! You always make me think of some of the Dutch Masters, with their wild and woolly compositional elements in just these hues. I wish the two to three brands of sap green I already have were as useful/natural looking as the brand you use. But I'm bookmarking this to paint along sometime, as your style is truly very freeing. (And yes, folks, it really is as easy as it looks.) I was gobsmacked the first time I experimented with this technique -- and it dried remarkably fast too. Another 5-star lesson, Stuart. No wonder your student came all the way from Cali....

In Ohio (middle west of the US) has many trees that are more regularly shaped. A typical neighborhood will have maples, crabapples, pears etc that not only have a fairly regular shape, but the colors are much brighter than many of your paintings. I wonder off and on whether this is the natural landscape of Europe where I've never been. The greens are often very bright green with a lot of yellow and some blue. There don't seem to be many greens that have a typical red ochre mixed in. Very odd to my mind to see these differences.

I have painted my first painting using your technique for one session, I like how it came out so far. But I don’t know where to go from here. I am unsure if adding more colors will ruin the effect or if it is ok to mix with white paint at all. It looks magical now but unfinished and I am afraid to ruin it!

Let it dry for a few weeks before you add any more colours, then if it goes wrong you can wipe off and try again without damaging your original work.
