Absolutely. Been watching NSF for several years now and often wondered about the environs of Boca Chica (yeah, entertained the idea of driving down there). This was very informative. Well done, guys.
I really hope people are respectful in the area when visiting. The access to Starbase is incredible, and I hope no one messes this up for everybody else.
this is the kind of genuine Das video I am hoping for. Perhaps a lot of BTS videos about the live stream cameras etc after the flight? Das promised as much during a live stream once. Also the Sea Turtle video - But seeing how awful the situation is there, I am more grateful for you bringing the experience to us via live stream.
I Have No Desire to Go Anywhere Near Texas! Florida & California were My Homes Back in the Day.... But Now I'm Too Old & Prefer Staying as Far Away from the Masses & Watch the Live Streams from the Comfort of My Couch! Thanks Guys for Saving Me the Hassle of Air Travel & Car Rentals!
This video made me happy. I would love to see the launch live, but there is NO way I would endure the bugs, the heat, and no bathrooms. Knowing all that, I will be very happy to watch the launch sitting in my comfortable chair with snacks and iced tea at the ready. Thanks NSF for being there for me.
Guys, I believe there will be thousands of vehicles and perhaps 10s of thousands of people. Hope SpaceX will be ready. This is the only joy people have had for years on end. Something truly great. People will want to be there.
As a resident of the RGV, this is great to watch. Very happy to see so much enthusiasm for whats happening at Boca Chica. Give back to the local community if you can when you visit. The Rio Grande Valley is one of the poorest communities in the nation. Lots of fantastic local restaurants and shops. Not much to do in Brownsville, but you can stay at South Padre Island which is a great beach vacation spot (with running water lol).
Great video as a PSA to folks for staying safe and prepared. Some city folk may not realize the remote-ness of the beach and the drive out there. Thank you.
This is one of the best NSF videos I've ever seen!! Great job Das, N8c, and Adrian. You all did such an amazing job. It's so great that you are making sure that everyone stays safe and follows all the rules. ❤
You'll make really great videos and thanks a lot for making also videos like these, these types of videos really help people who make this insane trip to starbase without getting arested lol.
Currently, today, at the Brownsville Superchargers about four are operational. At, Isla Blanca Park there are six level two chargers. Three are operational, two of the three are blocked by county employees, leaving one available.
As someone who won’t be going to Starbase, I still found this a fascinating video as I got a real understanding of the setup and how unique it is. Never before in the history of space flight has anything so epic been so visible and accessible to humanity.
One of the best videos from your channel ever. Definitely, thank you very much. That kind of information is needed and you really did an awesome job. 👍
I am from Austin and I used to enjoy going to Boca Chica Beach long before there was a Space-X BECAUSE it was an unimproved beach. Another tip about driving the beach....know what a high water line is and be aware of the tides. It's an awesome beach and I drive a Ford Fiesta on the sand very carefully. I do have wide tires however and grew up driving on the beach. Great fishing as well.
Thanks guys for detailed information. I won't be able to make this one but I'm already saving and will be ready to attend the possible 2nd launch later this year.
Driving a suby, NICE! "Gas, Snacks, tones of crabgrass, no time to relax, no time to relax, lol. Best of luck with filiming this historic evernt! Almost all flights booked. Please help us SpaceX junkies out and get some kick a#$ footage. Great short Das! Fingers crossed for the launch! Rock on!
Between NSF and Everyday Astronaut, they covered the basics well. Just remember, South Texans are good people that only ask that you be respectful of their home.
This was exceptional! Wonderful information! Super touring idea for the world! Loved seeing Nic & Das! You guys could take this touring idea on the road to other places! Surprised SpaceX hasn’t done something like this! You filled a huge gap!!! Kudos! SpaceX should make you guys the official tour guides. 😂
Hey guys,, thank you very much for this video,, It was very helpful.. And the best part you had no sponsored advertisements,, Thanks again.. And give Mary a big hug for me please.. and when you do not have a sponsor,, a bunch of us to where I live and enjoy your content. We pull up our money and donate to your channel.. Keep up the hard work.. And I love the metal print that I got..
I'm adding on to what the others have already said. NSF, you've shown again what a great group you are. This video is an excellent display of citizenship. I sincerely hope the lucky viewers going down to represent us space nerds are toeing the line (and, especially, not causing range violations).
Thank you, NSF! I'm planning a trip there in early May, so likely will be post-launch. That's okay, I just hope to see a happy (and *intact*, know what I mean?) Starbase!
Hello NSF, interesting video, I do love watching your videos but this but just that bit more about the area. Thank you. I hope it all goes well next week. Keep well, keep safe and enjoy the history.
Someone needs to gift Nic some of that new NSF merch, it's becoming a meme him wearing the old swag haha. Good luck with the IFT coverage guys and try to enjoy this historic moment as much as possible!
Awesome. Thanks. Was very informative and seeing the road was great. That is missing in all other videos actually popping up. Even Tim did not show that. Thank you to the whole team for all that amazing content you deliver daily! Much appreciated.
Great Video. We were down there a couple of days ago visiting family and went to Boca Chica. What an awesome sight. And like you said you can take all the pictures you want. I took several lenses and too about 300 pictures.
Me and A work buddy are always day dreaming about going down to watch a launch, alas, we are 4100 kms away. So until we can make it happen thank you folks at NSF for keeping us feeling like we are there.
So good guys especially the driving on the sand, and when you get experience come to Fraser Island in Queensland, better fishing and almost a bit quieter! 😂
Just one more thing. It's great to be a space nerd and a NSF fan. Don't be the stereotype pedantic know it all nerd. Be respectful and appreciative of other space nerds / camera crews / YT channels / space enthusiasts. Space is a human endeavor not a TMZ vanity brag .... you get the idea.
Great video. I've seen yours and Everyday's now and I'm content to watch it all on RUclips. If I was more than a few years younger I might have the temerity to venture to Boca Chica, but those days are in the rearview for me. I hope all goes well next week for the launch. I followed Mercury, Gemini & Apollo as a kid, and got to work and train with some NASA people much later in my AF job, but this right now is the second golden age of spaceflight. Cheers!
Worst part was the road work single line of traffic. I was down on the 14th and got down there at 5am. it was great. I parked along hwy 4 across from the Starship launch site. a couple hundred yards from the beach. Just missed seeing Starship stacked. But I got tons of pictures, even hiking over the dunes by the Gulf and to the other side of the Starship, just stay off Starbase property all marked by wooden stakes with blue on the top. And then made lots of friends. Everyone, even workers were extremely friendly.
Rips are actually really easy to spot. Look for the spot where the waves are smaller and kind of flattened. There may even be an obtuse V shape to them. Handy hint from an Aussie. The capital of rip current deaths! I wish I could post a photo so you know what I mean.
This video was a lot more informative than expected. I'm surprised the county hasn't made some traffic safety improvements. In fact, Cameron County haven't done much of anything with Boca Chica. One would think they'd want to encourage some tourism dollars. Weird...
Cameron County is one of the poorest counties in the U.S. SpaceX has poured some money into Brownsville for civic improvements and into Boca Chica. It's surprising that SpaceX has not just repaved Hwy 4 to remove the potholes and rough spots there.
@@rays2506 Like they said in the video, weather erosion and constant heavy truck loads just wear away at that portion. I live about an hour away and they can barely keep up with our roads (the valley tends to flood alot). I would imagine that once major construction operations are done they'll likely repave the entire road. They did a lot of work on the electrical infrastructure so they are investing as progress continues.
This may be my favorite NSF video so far. The camera, the editing, Das, a surprise German - just perfect.
LOL that surprise German bit. Crying laughing...
@@BreakingBarriers2DIY I felt entertained & represented :)
I’d love to have seen Felix Schlang as the surprise German 😂
Thanks! And I appreciate focus on safety.
Thanks for the great info. I will arrive Saturday the 15th after my drive from Portland.
Its so obvious how you guys enjoy making the videos for us. So appreciated. Wish i could fly across the globe to see it all myself. Thanks guys 👍🏻
Pitch perfect presentation 🚀
This was so entertaining and informative. I really appreciated that they were so mindful of the environmental concerns!
Great idea whoever came up with the idea to make this video. Good job everyone. Glad I watched and learned

I enjoyed the tone of this.
Not patronizing. Not demanding. Just explaining the facts and what you'll run into.
A+

This is a very cool video bros, thanks
Wow! THAT was superb! What a great way to convey information and with such humour too. Well done
Excellent video, and cured me of wanting to go down there. Thank you for being there for the rest of us.
I'm not even going and I really watched this video to the end. It's just a really cool way of presenting "real life" around the Starbase
Guys, I believe there will be thousands of vehicles and perhaps 10s of thousands of people. Hope SpaceX will be ready. This is the only joy people have had for years on end. Something truly great. People will want to be there.
That's it right there. Maybe we can make it off this rock. Maybe we won't f*** everything up forever. It's hard keeping all that sadness repressed.
😑
Great video, very informative, many thanks
Thank you for making this video! I learned tons about visiting Starbase.
I'm really thankful y'all published this video. Keep up the great work!

Best most informative and entertaining video I have seen!! Can’t wait for the next one. AAA could not have done it better!
Currently, today, at the Brownsville Superchargers about four are operational.

Fantastic video, for so many reasons! Thanks for this!!!
Very nice video!
Excellent info. Congratulations.
I may be from another side of the world but I appreciate the tour! Thanks, Das and NSF Team! See y'all on the 17th!
As someone who won’t be going to Starbase, I still found this a fascinating video as I got a real understanding of the setup and how unique it is. Never before in the history of space flight has anything so epic been so visible and accessible to humanity.
Brilliant video! Perfectly made, and such a great service to any visitors.
Thank You for caring ‼️🥰

This is a wonderful video!!! Thanks to all who made it, produced it!!! Looking forward to more of these! God bless to all - and - God bless America !

GG's Das! Love that you're just out here living your best life bruh! Keep on keeping on bud!
No joke, there is nothing out at Starbase/Boca Chica for the public. I Spent about 2 hours out there about a year ago, well worth the drive.
Been there. Drove from Wisconsin. Last year about this time of the year. It gets hot and sticky.
great video , more Das in the wild doing live stuff like on the beach etc please
Thank you, NSF! I'm planning a trip there in early May, so likely will be post-launch. That's okay, I just hope to see a happy (and *intact*, know what I mean?) Starbase!
Absolutely brilliant tour and explanation of how to safely prepare to get to Starbase.
As someone from the jersey shore, I love the “it’s not the jersey shore” reference
Hello NSF, interesting video, I do love watching your videos but this but just that bit more about the area. Thank you. I hope it all goes well next week. Keep well, keep safe and enjoy the history.
Thank you for the calming message.
You know: Mostly harmless! ;-)
About 15 hours of flying if I come from the UK. Would be worth it though for sure.
Love it!! Y'all do great videos! And very informative.
Thank you!
See you guys Sunday~
You know it's gonna be exiting when NSF uploads a How To Starbase video
May I add that on launch day for Starship, that you need to be at least five miles away from the pad.
I can't make it but I managed to pause all classes and events at my high school, so we can watch the launch.
@Raven'sRevenge right on!
Kudos
Wow! Good job!
Someone needs to gift Nic some of that new NSF merch, it's becoming a meme him wearing the old swag haha.
Good luck with the IFT coverage guys and try to enjoy this historic moment as much as possible!
i like the fact that the new stripes was being shown but gets distracted by a bird XD
Awesome.
Thanks. Was very informative and seeing the road was great. That is missing in all other videos actually popping up. Even Tim did not show that.

Thank you for the video! very helpful. I am looking forward to the video about where you can watch the launch!
Haha im so glad i watched this, that road would have obliterated my suspension
amazzing vid
This is a great vid, super informative! Keep up the great work!
Perfect advice
20:18 🤣🤣I was thinking the same thing
NOT an "unimproved" beach. An UNRUINED beach.
So good guys especially the driving on the sand, and when you get experience come to Fraser Island in Queensland, better fishing and almost a bit quieter! 😂
NGL watching this at 240p the colours and de-res makes it have a VERY 90s feel :D :D :D
The beach DOES NOT HAVE LIFEGUARDS!
Now you just need to pay for my plane tickets!😄
Love it!Thanks for the great video guys ❣️
Thank you!! hope to be there soon.
As a german i appreciate this nice Video. Keep up you're great job!
Awesome and informative video 🤙

you KNOW that prices out there are SO jacked up!!

You guys even lost a Prime Minister to the sea, correct? That stuff is not to be trifled with.
My bucket list trip to Starbase is coming Feb 1st. So Excited!!!! I'll be looking for you guys🚀🚀🚀
Good deal, enjoy the trip! - Das
Great shot of Danger Van "before"

We are heading there right now! After we watch the launch, we are heading into Matamoros, Mexico to get some plastic surgery. Should be fun!!!
godamn I'm all the way in the UK, I so want to be in boca china for the starship launch though, cant believe its finally happening
