Would you say that in Nashville you're going to feel far less valuable as a guitarist/backup vocalist than as a drummer or bass player? Or does it not matter as long as you just know enough songs? Great content, thanks 😆 (From a 29 year old guitarist/backup singer who recently escaped the fast rising cost-of-living in Austin, Texas to go live in the cheap Midwest and work a boring 9-5… But is considering moving to Tennessee in the near future).

Another question... would you say, in Nashville, that it's possible to make the transition to being a working a musician and make enough connections etc. while still devoting 25 to 30 hours a week to some part-time job? Or do you pretty much need to have a situation where you either have enough savings or have someone helping/supporting you so that you can spend the full 40 hours a week every week pounding the ground, making the connections and finding the gigs to get off the ground? The transition phase has always been the thing that is too hard for me to wrap my head around, because I'm scared, I won't be able "say yes to everything" because of having to work some stupid job just to supplement for bills... therefore, never quite being able to say yes to enough things to actually get off the ground and start getting it full-time. So I've been working on just getting a realistic expectation that I at least know what kind of plan I need to make.
