      Hi Jose, thank you for the kind words. I took a look at the app documentation and I did not see any recorded issues where the columns are missing from the dashboard. For reference, this is where these might be logged: github.com/OfficeDev/microsoft-teams-apps-milestones/issues I also haven't seen any other users on forums cite this issue. As a result, I'd suggest removing the app from your team and re-adding it. I hope this helps and thank you for watching.

      All the data in the Milestones app is stored in the Dataverse for Teams DB that is provisioned with the sample app. You can directly access this data via UI or connectors from flow. You can also report on this data from Power BI. To learn more about how to access the data or to customize these apps, refer to docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/teams/customize-sample-apps

      Hi Ole, thanks for the question. I just double checked my app across several channels in different teams and I can see the "+ work item" button. I'd suggest uninstalling the app & reinstalling. As for integration with Tasks by Planner & To Do, I doubt it. Microsoft really built these apps to showcase the power platform and the ability to extend teams. Users may be able to add this integration themselves with Power Apps.

In my experience most of these require a licence and/or additional costs. Microsoft Project is one example. To use it within a Team however, users would need to be licenced to use it. Other third party apps that are available for use within Teams include Asana, Smartsheet and Zoho Projects. I do have a tutorial on using Zoho Project within Teams. • @LuiIacobellis
      @LuiIacobellis  3 года назад

      Hi Rick, I’m not entirely sure what the rationale was for not being able to use the sample apps (including Milestones) in a private channel. From a technical perspective, it is confirmed that you’re unable to in the sample app “Known Limitations” documentation. See link below. Private channels inherently restrict visibility into the members which is implicit in the term “private” and the apps need to be able to access members to function properly. Too bad, as there are probably some legitimate use cases to add this to a private channel!

    How do extract data of work items from Milestone to excel or other power apps?

    • @LuiIacobellis

      Hi. To export the data to excel you would need to access the app from the Microsoft Teams Power App app. This gives you an option to view the underlying data where you can copy & paste into excel (I don't think you can export from here). To access the data for connection to another Power App, you would need to connect to the underlying data table in Dataverse. • @LuiIacobellis
      @LuiIacobellis  3 года назад

      Hi Rob, Microsoft has released several "sample" app that are built using its Power Platform (i.e. Power Apps & Power Automate). This is one of them. These sample apps were primarily built to showcase their Power Platform & more so how it can be used to extend the functionality of Microsoft Teams. To the best of my knowledge, this app (along with the others) don't have a roadmap & will not be enhanced by Microsoft. I do agree with you that perhaps adding a milestone layer to Tasks By Planner & To Do would be a good feature.

    • @navjotmarwaha
      @navjotmarwaha 3 года назад +1

      As Luigi mentioned, these are sample apps that are primarily focused on showcasing the types of applications you can create with Power Platform - Microsoft's low code application platform. Once installed, one has full access to the source code of these apps and you can customize and extend these, including integration with tasks / planner. In fact, one of the other sample apps called Issue Reporting (aka.ms/TeamsIssueReporting) is exactly that. It is a front end interface to manage issues reported by first line workers. Back end is based completely on tasks. You can take the "recipes" from Issue Reporting app and apply it to Milestones to integrate with Planner. • @LuiIacobellis
      @LuiIacobellis  3 года назад

      This is a great question. This app wasn't published as a replacement to Tasks by Planner and To Do. It was really published to showcase the extensibility of Microsoft Teams when using the Power Platform. After testing it, the only feature present here that isn't in Tasks By Planner and To Do is the fact that this app has a dashboard built in that displays percentage complete. As a result of that, perhaps if I ever wanted to manage a project or deliverable and have some minor reporting be avaibale without consuming effort to create, I may consider this app. However, personally I don't see enough differentiation between this and Tasks by Planner and To Do to persuade me to make this my primary task and or project management app in Teams.
