    A flat motor with ardun heads and a scott blower in a 33 3 window! It doesn't get much better than that. I am grooving on watching this project proceed. 😎👍

    Nice progress, cool that you could set the steering box back and get just enough clearance to make a set of pipes fit!

    I really love the look of this car the way it sets , body to frame , it is just so bad ass ! The engine mock up is truly sick with those Ardun heads & blower , lol ! That is going to be an awesome looking lean mean Green street machine ! The double master cylinder set & chrome front end hardware do finish it out nicely . That looks like a drag car just setting there . Sliding the steering box back on the frame did a couple of things for you that seem to have been needed for both fit , as well as function . This also cleared up a potential problem with the pedal placement . So three things accomplished in just one move . Nice ! Always a pleasure to see what you guys are up to at Iron Trap Garage ! Have a merry Christmas everyone , both to the families , & to the friends of ITG ! Good people here !

    Great work! Awesome perspective(s) on the Ardun machine! The video buffeted at points (my end). Typically annoying...but, the entire frame was jam-packed with awesomeness! Took my time and concentrated on the whole and its parts. Wow! That's gonna be something! Thanks for the really great content! Well done!

    Taking the necessary time to determine the ideal steering box location. Filling and bracing previous cutouts. Verifying clearances for the headers, dash mounts, foot pedals, dashboard appearance, seating location/steering ergonomics. Determining the correct linkage type, flattening the grooves, creating clearances for steering rod linkeage rotation, rod length and tap, cardboard aided design. Looked simple and quick but quite involved. Evidently lots of previous lessons learned e.g. Instagram post and gut instincts.
    Soon you will be able to steer. Waiting for next video with dash mounts and pedals. Hopefully pedal location, design, travel and ergonomics will be an easier task than previously.
    Great instructional video.

    I use to want to take a old F-4 Phantom fuselage remove the wings and make a car out of it just for fun ! I'm 67 years old Air Force veteran there was 4 aircrafts that I loved ! A Corsair like the Blacksheep Squadron , F4 Phantom , F106 Delta Dart and F102 Delta Dagger ! The F102 and F106 are about the same except one was a single seater the other was a 2 seater ! We had both at Minot AFB in North Dakota when I was stationed there in 1978 - 1982 !

    Matt, maybe you should think about putting a "U" joint in the steering shaft behind the dash. Then you could get the box back out the way of the exhaust but still be able to put the steering wheel height at a reasonable level.

    21:15 Just file the wide "spline" off. You are not going to compromise the part by doing that.
    Think smarter, not harder.

    • @IronTrapGarage
      @IronTrapGarage  2 года назад +1

      Think smarter? It takes just as long ( or longer) to file the entire spline flat as it does to just split the spline. You do it your way I’ll do it mine.
