- Having the right the font license for your project is important, and knowing which license to buy with so many options available can get confusing. Let me walk you thru some of the basic font licenses available so you know you are legally using a font in any project.

Do you need a web font liscense for RUclips use
Great question! Technically that would fall under a Broadcast License. Broadcast license allows the use of fonts in onscreen text for broadcasting such as RUclips videos and streams.
But it all boils down to the intent in which you are using the font, for commercial or non-commercial use. So if you use your YT channel to sell goods and services then that would require a commercial license, if the font designer does not sell a specific broadcast license.

@@BL_Creative one more I see desktop, web font, app, digital ad and server as options. Desktop specifies social media is fine through it. Which one of these would be considered broadcast

Thanks for the question. To use a font for social media you would need a desktop license. Google Fonts are free to use anywhere, no license needed. If you have a font you want to use, type the name of the font in a search engine, that should help you determine if its free to use and how you can use it.

@@BL_Creative actually many people use licence font for their instagram post but they are not purchased the licence
A demo license falls under Personal. If the social media account is a personal one, as opposed to a business account, then you should be able to use with no issues.
