I'm just doing slides right now but want to start doing flat art & photos. I repurposed an old copy stand and use a Canon R with a 100mm L Macro. I'm interested in the LED panels you are using? I haven't been able to find anything like them.

I eventually found the lights on Amazon. I am currently in sticker shock. Kaiser LED RB 5070 DX2 Lighting Unit - $1,224

@@jflorance3 Nice, I had a whole spreadsheet of research when buying my kit to find the best options at the best price! Happy Scanning 😁

@@jflorance3 they are Kaiser LED RB 5020 DS2 5467, which are German made, but if you are in the US then check out Smith-Victor they do some great options. Also Neewer and Raleno do lighting options for some other options. Happy Scanning 😁

Reflections are what get me. It’s not bad on light colored glossy prints but if the scene is darker or has darker elements it can be pretty bad. Even with glass like you described. Slides and negatives (or positives) are super easy, being backlit there’s no glare, but I just can’t figure out glossy prints!

Ah yes the joy of glare, a few things I have tried are changing the angle of the lights, taking a closer cropped image of the photo and the stitching together in Photoshop or if all else fails correcting the glare in Photoshop! 😊

Thanks for sharing, it would have been nice to know a bit more of the gear you used with links, copy stand, and back light source. Also a demo of one negative image bw or color. Camera settings used, explain any issues. Will the copy stand in use be tall enough for 120 or 6x9 negatives?
