Agree to he future is here but the politics are back in 1940's so not easy to explain what a unicycle us and how legalising this can actually open markets and employ 1000's of people in insurance busdynes, mechanics, safety equipment sales and manufactory, learning schools etc etc
Non electric cars should be totally banned from cities. A completely car free zone should be introduced to zone 1 which expands by 1 zone every year to zone 3. All forms of public transport should be electric.
Unfortunately a total fossil fuel ban in central London, would bring the capital to a grinding halt, as most businesses in the local areas are supplied by van and lorry deliveries. Creating more freedom for non-disabled electric scooter riders is a more viable and less costly long term solution, as we already have dedicated cycle lanes. We cannot expect to stand by silently and be bullied by a 'police state' of a government. It shouldn't matter what mode of electric transport you use, or it's maximum rated power, if it's being operated in a compliant manner. Punish or ban people who misuse and/or abuse the rules, but not ban all decent sized scooters just to prevent their use entirely.
I've been researching scooter and electric unicycles recently and the more I'm looking into this, the more I'm getting excited about getting something like an Inmotion V8 wheel!! - Would you ever consider a wheel instead of scooter? - Why/why not? :)
@Kxssam I got mine for £480, there was a sale on aliexpress so I had to take it at that price. It has taken me 3 weeks to get the hang of it and the first 3 hours I was just falling off constantly. Now that I'm getting a bit more confident on it, I really, really love the wheel, it feels like you're skiing or flying and it has completely replaced the scooter for me.
In London electric scooters, unicycles, etc don’t generate revenue 💰 for the government ie road tax, parking, congestion charge, petrol/diesel, etc. Probably, once they’ve found a way to generate revenue, they will legalise them 🤷🏽♀️

We now have a meeting point in the summer of 2019 for the first Green all electric scooter and Ninebot fest ! (as organized by yourself), yes we meet at Hyde Park Corner and then off to the Park , oh and bring the drone with you , i look forward to it, also getting as many riders together, who knows..maybe Mayor Khan at City Hall might take notice like he as done so at the Olympic Park and Bird Scooters... As always a great video and as for my suggestion next summer...Bring it on !.
Electric scooters/unicycles only became street legal last month here in Denmark. I've procured a Inmotion V8, which arrived the other day, and the thing is absolutly wrecking my self-confidence. Looking forward to mastering it though. ^^

I live in one of the downtown urban core of one of best cities in the world, MIAMI FLORIDA, and it's perfect for electric transport. I do not have a car, and I don't miss it. I have a Ninebot and being a endurance runner, I run. I think we need to BAN CARS from big CITIES.

I've returned my electric scooter and I'm gonna go for an electric unicycle, learning curve looks alot bigger but I think once it clicks it would amazing. They look alot more nimble than electric scooters, I really have the turning circle of the scooters

You should see Paris at the moment: lots of bike lanes are being made; it’s going to be great. It made me sell my motocycle to buy a Z6. But since I fell quite hard the other day I’m thinking of switching to electric scooter because it’ feels safer (that’s how I discovered your great channel). Questions: did you take a policy for your e-scooter? And Would you park your e-scooter in London with a good lock when you go to the movies for instance (Nice Besson référence btw) or would you say these things get stolen a lot? If you have been riding a unicycle for 50 years, the hardest part with these things is trusting that they will keep you up. It literally took me 3 minutes to learn to ride, within 5 I was free mounting
@@BenFox01thanks, you did really good for starting out. I've only seen one person pick it up in under an hour and he was 13. At 65 still riding a standard unicycle. It really wasn't to hard to learn when I was 12. No I can not and won't try off roading or many if those tricks they do today.. These electric ones are a blast, think of it as a one wheel segway.
I spent the whole afternoon today in the sun enjoying my new 2.5kw Harley scooter... What a machine! The entire 20 mile journey, cost me a total of £000.03p to recharge and caused no obnoxious fumes! It did turn quite a few heads though and plenty of pauses from my ride so pedestrians could admire it and ask endless questions. LOL #ProScoot 🛴

Since this tire is tubeless, is it possible to use plugs aka "bacon strips" for flat tire repair? I've seen videos on changing tires on these wheels and I'm trying to avoid the disassembly nightmare. Thanks for any advice 🙏🏻
There's no e-scooter sharing program here in Chicago and believe it or not, you see more e-skateboarders than e-scooterists out on the streets. And e-skateboards are even faster and more dangerous, yet given no negative publicity
With regard to all these things as good as they are, you will find a lot of people are just way over weight or have movement problems, so even though they would love to get into this kind of thing they struggle. Also with regard to the Electric unicycle when that battery dies, unless you understand basic electronics you will struggle to find a replacement battery. This will also be true with regard to electric scooters, when they go wrong finding replacement parts will be difficult, unless we are talking about the M365 which is a really good reason to buy one of those scooters over the other brands. But spare parts are an issue, it's difficult to find them even online.

If you think these vehicles should be legal in the UK then email futureofmobility@dft.gov.uk and ask them to look into making them legal. They're a brilliant way of getting about in cities, they cost pennies to run, they're good fun and can just be parked under your desk at work. It would be OK if they were just classed in a similar way as electric bicycles though the electric unicycles need more power to keep you upright.

Best unicycle on the planet - lol. I got Gotway MSuper X and KingSong 18L. Ninebot Z10 i got for 3 days test-drive. It is impossible to turn after regular unicycle. As for me, if you need top speed 40-50 msuper is more stable, but kingsong easy to turn. If you need light weight and speed 30 is enough - choose inmotion v8

Euc! Funnier, Faster, has a bigger wheel, is more compact, easyer to carry in the crowd or in other vehicles, has a better range.. Cons: you have to really learn how to ride and it's a little more dangerous if you are not so good riding it or if you are not paying attention to asphalt conditions and/or the world in front of you..
I recently got a Inmotion V8 EUC. The range and how much of a beating they could take ended up selling me on them. It was frustrating at first but once you get the hang of it it's so fun! Really want that Z10 now.
In my view, the z10 is unsafe for regular public use due to its instability, the electric scooters such as the xiaomi m365 are far superior because of the handlebar controls. I am looking forward to Bird working with the UK government to change the current UK laws to allow widespread use of electric scooters in the near future.
Have you actually ridden an electric unicycle for any substantial period of time? Based on my actual experience, the opposite is true. The small wheels on the scooters are an accident waiting to happen and I feel less stable on a scooter when riding. Using handlebars is a big negative- it ties up your hands, doesn't offer significant protection and you can count yourself lucky if you don't get impaled by it. Bottom line, the electric unicycle is vastly superior.
Ben have you ever heard of the Onan L1? It's the only scooter that I think might actually be better overall than the M365. Battery can get up to 30 miles in one charge plus a top speed of 18.5 Mph. True, but you're asking that of lazy people driving cars, so the next best step would be to offer perhaps a little less lazy, but convenient and environment-friendly option.
Vegeek 1 How so? I ride my e-skateboard and e-scooters in NYC. It engages my muscles and burns calories. My FitBit notes it. Also, when I get to certain places, I have to often pick them up and carry them. That engages arm and hamstring muscles. For really getting fit, I go to the gym. But since buying my e-rideables, I’ve lost additional weight. A bike would be cumbersome, get stolen and not be safer for me. Please do ride a bike if that works for you but allow others to decide for themselves. And e-rideables are becoming regulated more and more.

@Kxssam Yes, I rode it earlier a couple of miles from London Liverpool Street station to a meeting :) - took about 10 minutes vs 20 by train.

The fact the handlebars fold on this one looks really convenient, do you find that the Ninebot ES2 is less convenient taking on the tube?
Yeah folding handle bar should be on every escooter! The Es2 is less convenient than the Zoom but I still take the Es2 on the Tube often

Ninebot give no guarantee for dealers. All parts should be pre-payed. Aliexpress prices for Z6 kills all margin.

@@BenFox01 I've got the Segway ninebot es2 with the extended battery weights a bit so was looking at bike locks. I could roll it around do shop keepers say anything?

Best unicycle on the planet - lol. I got Gotway MSuper X and KingSong 18L. Ninebot Z10 i got for 3 days test-drive. It is impossible to turn after regular unicycle. As for me, if you need top speed 40-50 msuper is more stable, but kingsong easy to turn. If you need light weight and speed 30 is enough - choose inmotion v8

Euc! Funnier, Faster, has a bigger wheel, is more compact, easyer to carry in the crowd or in other vehicles, has a better range.. Cons: you have to really learn how to ride and it's a little more dangerous if you are not so good riding it or if you are not paying attention to asphalt conditions and/or the world in front of you..
Euc bigger wheels = better offroad

I recently got a Inmotion V8 EUC. The range and how much of a beating they could take ended up selling me on them. It was frustrating at first but once you get the hang of it it's so fun! Really want that Z10 now.

In my view, the z10 is unsafe for regular public use due to its instability, the electric scooters such as the xiaomi m365 are far superior because of the handlebar controls.
I am looking forward to Bird working with the UK government to change the current UK laws to allow widespread use of electric scooters in the near future.
Have you actually ridden an electric unicycle for any substantial period of time? Based on my actual experience, the opposite is true. The small wheels on the scooters are an accident waiting to happen and I feel less stable on a scooter when riding. Using handlebars is a big negative- it ties up your hands, doesn't offer significant protection and you can count yourself lucky if you don't get impaled by it. Bottom line, the electric unicycle is vastly superior.

Ben have you ever heard of the Onan L1? It's the only scooter that I think might actually be better overall than the M365. Battery can get up to 30 miles in one charge plus a top speed of 18.5 Mph. Rear disc brake and 10" tires with a rear shock. When folded it's quite flat which is nice.

True, but you're asking that of lazy people driving cars, so the next best step would be to offer perhaps a little less lazy, but convenient and environment-friendly option.
Vegeek 1 How so? I ride my e-skateboard and e-scooters in NYC. It engages my muscles and burns calories. My FitBit notes it. Also, when I get to certain places, I have to often pick them up and carry them. That engages arm and hamstring muscles. For really getting fit, I go to the gym. But since buying my e-rideables, I’ve lost additional weight. A bike would be cumbersome, get stolen and not be safer for me. Please do ride a bike if that works for you but allow others to decide for themselves. And e-rideables are becoming regulated more and more.
