Cardiff Bay middle distance ticked off, my first ever 70.3 race in a time of 5:25:04s 🙌🏻
23rd overall / 12th in category.
Starting at 5:15am, the swim was absolutely horrific! The waves and sunrise made it super difficult 🏊
The bike was windy but FAST! The technical course suited me and got myself from 50th to 9th overall 🚴💨
The run was just about holding on and battling myself, stomach cramps were painful after a week of illness 😷🏃🏻
I have to thank Alex Ruth Perry & Jordan Lane for their support this morning, it pushed me all the way 🤍

It certainly was a good event, hopefully they tweak a few things for the 70.3 next year. But definitely well organised event considering the start time and the amount of distances which were on over 6/7 hours 🙌🏻

I hope they cleaned up the bay (ie water) when they re-did the port area. :-)
Luckily we were in the fresh water side thankfully!
I think they’re trying to fit too much into one event in Cardiff. I’ve done the Olympic and sprint and there are too many bikes on the course at one time. At least they should start the sprint first so most people would be off the bike by the time the Olympic guys get going..
It was difficult the last 3 laps, it would definitely be worse for the guys who are doing shorter / more intense laps.
Just needed the roads to be closed for longer but doubt they will get that.
