Can't decide between the trim or carpenter set.which one would you recommend? What's the weight differents between them?

It will depend on how much you carry in your daily workflow.
The weight difference isn't a critical factor being nylon pouches, they are pretty close to each other.

Not much just the essentials and the set up constantly changes depending on the job on that day. Only thing is no tape holder on the trim. But not sure about the extra length on the carpenter
