Genesis today officially revealed the exterior and interior of the GV70. The much-anticipated GV70 becomes the fifth model in the Genesis lineup, joining the G70, G80 and G90 sedans, and the GV80 mid-luxury SUV. Like other models in the lineup, the GV70 will be based on the rear-wheel-drive platform; all-wheel drive will also be available.
The “G” in GV70 represents Genesis, while the “V” refers to the versatility that only a Genesis SUV can offer.
Inspired by the design philosophy of ‘Athletic Elegance’, the GV70 features a sporty and powerful appearance.
The design of the GV70’s front is thoroughly unique. The iconic Crest Grille, which takes its shape from the Genesis logo, has been set lower than the Quad Lamps to reflect the SUV’s athletic nature, while the two-lined Quad Lamps evoke a sense of speed and dynamism. Skid plates placed on the bottom of the bumpers reinforce the SUV’s powerful image.
When viewed from the side, the GV70 exudes an elegant sensibility. The arching Parabolic Line, which begins at the top of the Quad Lamps and runs elegantly along the side of the SUV, creates a dramatic contrast with the muscular rear fenders. The sleek and elegant coupe-like roofline, along with the dropping chrome line to the C-pillar, accentuates the GV70’s unique athletic characteristic.

I have a 1 yr old X3. I will be trading it in as soon as the GV70 is available here in the US. Like on its very first day. Like I will be at their door as soon as their dealership opens that day.
Well, their first shipments will more than likely already be sold to customers. I'm basically going to bug the hell out of my Genesis dealership on when the first orders can start. That way, my car will be on their first truck!

personally I think G70 and GV70 look better than G/V80
They look sportier more aggressive the 80 looks more luxurious
I love the design of the GV's models but HATE the fuel economy. Not sure why Genesis isn't focusing on both aspects of a buying decision. Lexus seems to be the only Luxury brand trying to cover both bases. I'm a Honda/Acura guy but I can't help but consider a Lexus for my next vehicle due to their attention to quality and fuel economy. I'm also not sold on the design of the Lexus.
Genesis seems to be putting all of their resources into electrifying the brand for the long term. They want to be fully electric by 2025. That's probably why we just see blah/average fuel economy.
Beauty does not allow all other factors to be considered. OK?

Nope, you're just forcing to apply the grill to it . you gotta study on shape, very subtle difference
Agree with James. I can see some similarities, but there are still big differences. The Genesis comes to more of a point at the bottom. The Mazda has an extra inward slanting angle at the top corners where it touches the headlights.
