    This is by far the best take on "Bumble Boogie" I have ever witnessed. The speed and accuracy are outstanding and Hannes has truly made it his own. I don't think there is a single word which can describe it what you see in this video.

      +Der Verbesserer 0816 I'd rather listen to this version. Liberace was a showman, and his version is very showy. That's not bad. That's what made him a mega star. This version while not showy, is just damn awesome!

    For the life of me I can never understand why there's dislikes on this clip.
    Anyone that appreciates music or plays can plainly see that Hannes is one of the most talented virtuoso's that ever sat at a piano. There's nothing at all to dislike about this video at all that I can even by the stretch of the imagination , can see.
    I really wish that those people would stop being either wiseguy's or haters, I think the player is fantastic bravo!!! Hannes

      Always good to talk to an old fellow South African. I'm still a young 55 years but haven't lived there for a good 18 years now.
      I remember reading somewhere that to achieve greatness, it would take at least 10,000 hours of practice no matter what you're doing being it playing the piano or doing magic tricks. All it takes is hard work but try telling that to the kids today!

Vielen Dank!

  • @williamkushner2825
    @williamkushner2825 3 года назад +25

    Absolutely the finest playing of the Bumble Boogie on the internet. There is no other version of this complexity and difficulty. Every note seems to come thru as clear as a bell although many are played at a mind boggling pace. His thirds are truly awesome. At times Otahal plays octaves in the right hand at lightning speeds, with perfect precision, as he moves up and down the keyboard. Most performers stay with a simpler version often using single notes.
    Ive seen the Liberace performances of this piece and his renditions (although very good) do not require the virtuosity and are not nearly as interesting as this arrangement.
    One can not listen to Hans Otahal's performance of the Bumble Boogie just once as its so exceptional.
    Why anyone would dislike this video is beyond me except there are those malcontents who just have to make some kind of an opposing statement (which is dismissed, in this case, by the vast majority).
