"It is not in my nature to disobey the orders of my superiors, general." "Then for pity's sake, obey me when I order you to stand down." Man's got some serious balls, I'll give him that.
I can't imagine the Emperor's pain if he saw these two factions clashing at each other, for no reason whatsoever other than the pride of their commanders. "I am taking Kronus for the Emperor, back down!" "No, I AM taking Kronus for the Emperor, YOU back down!"
11:03 Been trying to find this line for ages. Strangely the quotes video doesn't have it. So I am guessing it's either "You called sir?" or "New corpse, sir!". I always thought it was the latter.
I really hope this ending is canon but thule still alive :(. I love BR they are my introduction to W40K, playing SM againts IG in DC campaign pains me alot
A pity, that Relic's own homebrew Space Marine chapter, ended up defending such a poorly designed map in what is imho their best DoW1 expansion (and perhaps even WH40k-themed RTS game). The idea was most certainly there, with several optional objectives represented by the Ravens' outposts dotting the map, but I feel like it severely missed that _oompfh_ you'd expect from a Space Marine chapter if anyone ever dares to trespass on their territory. For all the unfathomable cringy memes that Soulstorm is so famous for, you at least felt the hammer literally fall on you as soon as you dared to make any progress on the Ravens' stronghold mission, with flocks of Assault Marines descending upon you, Terminators teleporting in and Whirlwind missiles scattering your troops like trash in the wind. Forget the fact that you can cheese this mission in literally under 3 minutes with a scan+orbital bombardment -- if you have enough men loaded in Chimaeras with upgrades and leaders attached + some Sentinels to cover you and provide fire support, you can just disembark your forces right outside either gate and victory-parade in, before you even finish your ownTier-3 (and I'm talking on Hard more), completely ignoring all other objectives in this mission. > Grenade Launchers counter *all* setup teams, so Heavy Bolters and Missile launchers are no issue here. > Fully upgraded Plasma Guns will melt any infantry in your path, especially if properly "motivated" by a nearby Commissar. > Psykers disable any and all Predators and Dreadnoughts with a flip of their fingers, and since your primary objective is to rush and destroy the HQ, you can just use it to stop them from moving and firing, and literally drive past them straight to the objective. > SM turrets are arguably one of the weakest in the game, but it takes only a little practice to "trick" the AI into targeting e.g. your transports or use Priest's 'fanaticism' to take them down in seconds with lasguns. > Orbital bombardment can't hurt you if your whole army is driving full throttle towards the SM main anyway, just like the Whirlwind can't. > Thule is a complete pushover, and you don't even need a Vindicare to effectively take him out of the equation (but it's fun, especially if you "melee" him with the Exitus Pistols). > Meanwhile, all of the "hollowed 1st company veterans" will simply idle in the other forward bases and watch their precious Stronghold burn to the ground...
It would have unironically been better if the Guard won on Kronus. Kyras would've been exposed and dealt with much, _much_ earlier. Also, this mission is pretty tragic IMO.

You know your general is one to follow to the end if he can beat a space marine in close combat.
By the Emprah finally a Dark Crusade campaign! Thank you Mitra!
Imperial Guard guide: support the baneblade
Imperial Guard kicking Space Marine ass is oddly very very satisfying
Not so superior now, are they?
Hold the east gate!!
He says as he loses the east gate

this was masterly done! truly great vid :)
36:39 IT IS A BANEBLADE!
There is a trick with orbital bombardment if I remember. If you capture orbital relay then you scan the stronghold you can finish the mission early
Yes, but to win this way would be uninteresting. This stronghold assault was quite easy itself.
Yes, I was wondering about this just after completing the mission normally.

i think the faction of the space marines are so stronger even when IA controlet the troops
Real talk- who has higher authority here? A space marine chapter or segmentum command?
Pretty sure the Space Marines would hold higher authority than guardsmen

Well unfortunately for you it’s actually the Blood Ravens who toke the planet not the IG but I think it would be cool if the IG did take Kronus
Imperial Guard vs Space Marines
But who is the heretic here!?
No one
@@rro3540 is that possible
@@patrik9328 yea there was no heretic it just that both of them had different objective
The only heretics are the guardsmen who switched sides and joined the space marines.
@@patrik9328Yes, conflicting orders can do that.

2:30 starts the music - anyone knows the track ?
It's just the stronghold theme of the Space Marines.
