Her next album and every concert after this is much more theatrical and introspective but the youthful innocence is gone. Not saying that’s a bad thing, it’s just a part of life and growing older. Now that you've seen both performances you should know that right after True Blue she did Papa Don't Preach, which as you saw was more serious. So it told a story of what happens when an idealistic, romantic love gets a little more real.

Girs, you should definitely react to True Blue live from the Rebel Heart Tour. Very different vibe, but so emotional and just as cute. And it was very special because after the Who's That Girl Tour she never performed this song live again until the Rebel Heart Tour, almost 30 years after.

Oh, i'm so excited that you guys are going to see her live. I got tickets for Cologne( I'm in Germany) for the 15th of November, Europe will get her first but she'll be all over the US in 2024. I really believe it's Now Or Never and she has this celebration Tour Theme of 40 years so it's like a Greatest Hits Tour so you just know it'll be worth your money with her incredible hit catalogue and discography. True Blue is such a cute, feel good song. It gets overshadowed alot because on this album, there was also Live To Tell, Papa Don't Preach, La Isla Bonita and Open Your Heart. I mean, thats just one album and sounds like a Greatest Hits for other people haha but True Blue really is a cute song. My favorite part is the ''No More Sadness, I kiss it Goodbye, the Sun is bursting right out of the sky...'' It's so catchy and uplifting.

This 2nd tour was the first time (and henceforth) she added Asia and Europe. For the Italian leg of this tour she recorded it live as a video album under the title: Ciao Italia! Live From Italy with venues in Turin and Florence. It was a sort of homecoming for her since her Ciccone paternal ancestry came from Pacentro. Technically this tour was a huge improvement from her 1985 tour; here she incorporated complex staging and multi-media audio-visual components that set the standard not only for her future tours but also for other artists’ pop music concerts since. She also shed her Like A Virgin/Material Girl era image and came out with a new image, looking fit and lean setting the standard for fitness for female pop music artists (Madonna watched her diet, doesn’t smoke, drink or do drugs, and followed a strict physical fitness regimen with a personal trainer). She revealed that she prepares like an athlete to sustain the stamina and energy required by her choreography and the rigors of traveling and performing many nights for months during a tour. You know how in person a lot of famous people are normally a lot less attractive in real life? I went to see Madonna in her play in London - Up For Grabs, I think it was 2004. I was front row and in person she looks more attractive than in the videos or in photos. She's tiny, but her skin radiates something, I don't know what it is. And you can't take your eyes off of her eyes. Whatever that special something is, she has it and more of it than any other star in my lifetime. You will love her show.
Oh but it's so similar to the video...same costume even. The MDNA tour version of Open Your Heart would really showcase how she could dramatically rework a song to great effect. It would make a far more interesting comparison after watching the original video.
