    Hey guys, today on my channel we are reacting to some DUMB social media posts that made me laugh! Dumb tweets, dumb facebook posts, dumb reddit posts. Sometimes I think people should think before posting to social media...but then I wouldn't have any dumb people to laugh at in today's video.

      Okay, so I didn't fully get the name piece from the first post- mainly because I didn't look at the names in the conversation. When he posted the birth announcement, with full name, I immediately got it... I don't understand the third post though? I mean, was it just to say, "Ah, shit, I didn't think that through," and like there was no actual joke there? Charlotte read the third interaction, paused, then "OH, I GET IT!" Uh, was there anything in that third piece that was actually a joke, or was it just calling himself out for not realizing his faux pas before committing his son to be Jack Inof for the rest of his life?
      Also- I realize this is not new. Sorry for commenting on a seven month old video. I'm just confused 😕

      I have arthritis, especially in my hands. So we cut books into sections so that It can manage to hold it to read. This also good because one of us can start to read, then when they have read that section, and then somebody else (usually me) can start on the first section. If we are impressed with the book when we're finished reading, we buy a new copy for the bookcase.

    The adoption thing I kinda relate to, but it's kinda scary that she made it to adulthood without being informed of this. For Christmas when I was 12, a relative who was affluent decided to "adopt" a Giant Panda (the black and white one, not the red ones) for me and give me the WWF materials from the adoption. I actually still have the photo of the panda that got protected by the donation, I'm 20 in June, but the point of me bringing this up is that I had the discussion of "they aren't going to Jurassic Park that shit, pick up the panda, and fly it across the Pacific Ocean so you can be friends with it in the backyard" when I was 12, and it took two seconds be like "oh, ok" and I am autistic, so sometimes I don't get stuff that fast. This woman is CRYING because they didn't hightail a UPS Air Freight with a Koala bear for her to snuggle with. And in the same logic as with me; I didn't even need this argument but I'll provide it for you; the US does not have natural food sources for either my Panda or your Koala. Bamboo, including the breed that Pandas eat, is not found in the US except in small farm allocations around zoos that take care of pandas and breed them since they are endangered, such as the D.C. zoo. Koalas eat only eucalyptus, and for the record are so food-dumb that if you take the leaves off the tree and put them in front of them, they won't eat them because they can't recognize it, and eucalyptus is only found in Oceania and in farms making essential oils, so what are you going to feed this bear when it gets dropped on your doorstep like Om-Nom and it's hungry? Oh, and just to add some sugar, she should be happy she isn't getting the bear, because nature has a weird sense of humor, and it actually has been found that some 90% of Koalas are carriers of human-transmission STDs, so she should be jumping for joy right now that she dodged that bullet.

    Oh man, the pink panther one got me. Originally, the Pink Panther was a movie from 1963 with Inspector Clouseau and his blumbing hijinks to find the stolen gem The Pink Panther, which later became a cartoon in 1968 that turned the gem into a cartoon large cat. Also, panther is a blanket term for alot of big cats with black fur coloration, kinda like reverse albinoism. I don't believe Lions and tigers fall into that particular category but jaguars and pumas do.
    In fairness, people believed pathers were their own thing, since the spots of jaguars are usually a visual aid for to let innocent explorors know what they were going to be eaten by. :T
    This string of nearly useless facts was brought to you by doomscrolling of old and ✨️ADHD✨️. This all now can live rent free in your grey matter for as long as you desire. Enjoy!

      Technically, a panther could be any of the big cats in the genus Panthera, which includes lions and tigers, not only the black furred ones. But really, as you say, the way is normally used is to referr to melanistic leopards and jaguars that are part of the genus Phantera, and also cougars, despite not being part of the genus Panthera, not even the subfamily Pantherinae. Jaguars, Leopards and Cougars, are ther only three big cat species with confirmed melanistic individulas,there have been some reports of black lion sightings, but no tangible evidence has ever surfaced.

She mowed the lawn for the last time that year and I emptied the gasoline in the mower back into the gas can so it didn't sit over winter. So we had this gas can with like 1 or so liters of gasoline in it that we needed to get rid of. She wanted to just pour it on the gravel parking lot and I wouldn't let her do that. I told her I would empty it into a coffee can and take it to the landfill chemical disposal area with some other stuff. It was like 3 hours later I realized I could have just emptied it into my gas tank in my truck. 😆😆

    My grandmothers used to do the half-book thing. So they could read the same book at the same time. One would read the first part, hand it off, and start the second. They found it convenient for travelling. I also thought they were book-murderers... til I worked at a bookstore and had to destroy hundreds of paperbacks per week by hand.

      Why do they destroy the books?

    • @v1c4r10u5
      @v1c4r10u5 Год назад

      @@lennellwaltonboxer It's part of the returns process. Hardcovers and trade paperbacks usually get returned to the publisher for credit if they're unsold after a certain amount of time. They're boxed up and shipped, or if the bookstore is part of a chain, they may be sent to a central company-owned facility where the books are either returned to the publisher or redistributed to other branches. Often the publisher then sells those books to clearinghouses, who may resell the books to bookstores or other types of stores again, which is where 'bargain' books come from-- hardcovers that came out a couple years ago that are being sold for like $5, that's the source of those. But things like mass market paperbacks ("pocket books"), Harlequin brand books, etc, whose total cost margin is not worth the shipping cost, get destroyed instead as their 'returns' process. The covers are torn off and returned to the publisher for credit. In my store, we had to rip the books in half and box them up to go in the recycle compactor, but I know of other stores who just binned them straight in the trash after ripping the covers. Incredibly wasteful. That's also why inside the cover of those small-format paperbacks is usually a barcode, so they can be scanned and returned. That's also why that blurb about coverless books is in mass markets, because any book missing its cover has undergone this kind of returns process, which assumes the book has been destroyed, so any book missing its cover that is being sold somewhere is probably 'stolen property.' So... if you work within the publishing industry at all, you realize quickly that books are not sacred, not in this day and age, at least.

Cuts down all the rest of the weight of the book. You just ship the next chunk to your next restock spot along the trail. :D)
    But honestly, books are things. You bought the thing not to be a Thing, but to be used for something. For books, that's to read what's inside it. All prices had been negotiated beforehand.Nearly everyone showed up with an envelope labelled with a price with 10 - 20% lower than agreed. I had stressed that prices were as low as possible and no further negotiations were possible. I have done this before, and people were amazed that there were only 5 people allowed in the house at one time, and that I checked that the agreed prices has not been "marked down" by the customers. Final price means xactly that. Ifanyone showed uo with less, they were crossed off the list and there was fast Food Washroom down the street. First weekend sales were $0:00 but most people showed up or called over the next few weeks, and nearly everything sold for full price. THis only works if you don't need the $$$!

    I worked at a store that had "Buy one and get one of equal or lesser value half price" and they'd be like "Can the more expensive one be half price?" and genuinely be upset with me when I said no lmao Like, it says right there on the sign.
