Just curious, what does it look like now? I lived in Atlanta at that time of that video and until 1999. I’ve been back a couple of times, but never to the underground. Used to go all the time, I heard it closed a while ago? Then it opened again? I try not to go back to Atlanta these days.
Really takes me back. I worked nearby and would head over there for lunch or to get coffee. Barnies. Seems so short-lived. If only Atlanta ever had any real leadership, maybe it would have survived.
The good ole days when life was fun.. this use to be the hang out after school go to the food court get a bite to eat and just hang out pull numbers from the cute girls
@georgianativeatlanta9433 bruh preach that was the hangout spot for real pulling girls getting there numbers just kicking it with the fellas enjoying life man I miss those days the old Atlanta I miss rip 🙏🏿 to the old Atlanta Georgia the underground 😢💯
@jerrellsmith6867 yessirr i definitely miss the old Atlanta, now we've been invaded by these out of towners and new violent species that messed up the hole vibe and culture 😔😔
I remember Underground in 92 when I was a little kid visiting out of state. I vividly remember a VR ride and the college kids who rode it. I remember seeing the capitol and being mesmerized. Downtown Atlanta had some prestige back then. Now it's genuinely terrible and awful, sadly. I say this as GSU graduate.
If only downtown would’ve started adding residential towers at this time. Downtown along with midtown now would’ve been great for the city. Instead downtown playing catch up to midtown and buckhead. Even the beltline neighborhoods are growing more then downtown.
Is it full of rainbows and zesties now? This is when Atlanta was cool. Atlanta natives don’t even like Atlanta no more. GA natives like me only go to go to six flags or the doctors. It just ain’t what it was.
The developers, or whoever, see that its too much money to be made here. They want to scoop up every inch of the city, especially every inch with a view. I was riding on Boulevard tonight near Grant Park and had never seen those views of downtown before. Atlanta is gorgeous, day or night, but the COL is becoming a turnoff. This summer, the focus for everyone should be free fun. Filling parks with music, bbq, games, picnics...filling pools, walking downtown. Just being outside, but for free.
So true . I’m an Atlanta native and our city has well absolutely ruined and I can’t figure out why so many are constantly coming here and ruining things . Like with the violence and destroying things. That didn’t used to happen here.
We transplants built up Atlanta for the better. Atlanta would be rundown and two times smaller like Memphis and Birmingham if it wasn't for the transplants building that place up.
Good ole days 😢 I was born in 91 and this is how I remember downtown as a whole. Just ppl everywhere, moving and going places. Entertainment everywhere you turn. Restaurants all over. Businesses thriving in south downtown. If only the city started adding residential towers at this time. What would it have been like now, especially with the boom in Midtown and Buckhead..?? Now downtown playing catch up and it ain’t catching up fast enough for a lot of us
OMG. I have no idea why this was in my feed, but I’m so glad it was. I lived in Atlanta at this exact time and this video made me so happy and sad at the same time. What a different world it was back then and what I wouldn’t do to go back. Thank God for video cameras, but more importantly, thank God for the person that made this video. Purple-Icious lol my girlfriend at the time loved that little kiosk, Sam Goody, Tortilla Flats 🌮 ❤. The good Ol’ days when Atlanta was a great city. Back when the world was at least half way sane.
That reason why me friends used to hangout at under ground on weekends am so glad i got experience under ground grew up in Atlanta ❤❤❤ i miss it old Atlanta so much fun peaceful
I remember going there as a kid in the 90s. I remember right after the bombing at the Centennial Olympic Park my mom not wanting me to go to Underground Atlanta with my dad that summer.
Back when the world seemed so much peaceful
The Underground Atlanta will never be the same
Nothing is the same, sadly

So much nostalgia 😢 it’s sad how times have become over complicated. Now with technology and social media taking over. Let’s go back to this 😊
It’s crazy how everything looked so modern for this to be 93
Incredible footage. Went to undergournd several times as a kid and this is how I remember it.
I was born in ‘95 and this is exactly how I remember it as a kid too

It was wonderful when I was a kid
I remember a Chinese restaurant on top of the underground that sold the famous teriyaki wings
This feels like a lifetime ago.
It's crazy. I was 16 at the time and am now 46. How quickly time goes by.
I worked at that Sam Goody 91-92
Look at the engagement with no social media
Thank U so much for time back in history 💓
Great footage
I was there in 91 or 92, I remember a musician on every corner and a great band playing outside, plenty of shops and bars, we had a fun time.

Grew up going to underground
Same. This spot and Six Flags were annual summer trips I looked forward to.
