And if you really got no space to do this; slow down, get the ball to your backhand and spoon the ball up (with your backhand of course). But look out, dont put too much power in it, just stick your hockeystick to it and push it. It's like a scoop, but then with backhand.

This is a great technique to use I've been doing it in practice for years, but whenever I do it in a match the opponents argue saying I'm using backstick but the stick is at 2 o clock angle yet the umpire agrees with them so I don't understand why they saying that
